What Are the Must have Spydercos for Newbies?

Delica, Military, PM2 are my essentials. Twist my arm and my answer is Delica and Military. One small knife and one large knife to handle any task expected of a folding knife.

My main Spyderco for carry is a Stretch 2. I have a lot of choices but I feel that the Stretch may be the greatest design for a Spyderco and one of the best designs for a folder ever.

Only have 3 Spyders but have went through alot of there models and my picks would be Vallotton, Manix, Delica. I''m not a huge fan of the Delica (Though nice lightweight edc and if they used S30v on it that would probably change my mind) but with the custom scales I have on mine it's just too purty for me to part with.:D

Stretch, Gayle Bradley, Military, PM2, and one of the flippers just because.

If you are collecting for collecting's sake, I would suggest that the Delica with FRN handle and the stainless steel Police model are the classic Spyderco models that made Spyderco famous. I would also suggest that the Paramilitary 2 is the most famous modern Spyderco.

Military, PM2, manix 2, southard, domino, GB, Air.

After trying out many spydercos those are my favorites, though I mostly just carry a military.

ti millie and regular millie. then don't look back. (para2 if like smaller knives) eveything else is just...well...chaff. but a millie can handle it all and look good doing it.

In my opinion, the basic Spyderco knives without which no collection of any kind will be complete, are the Endura and the Delica in FRN. Not everyone will agree with me, but they're wrong. :)

Everything else is just expanding on the fundamentals. Those two highly refined designs are to me emblematic of Spyderco. They are relatively inexpensive for what they are. They have been continually improved over decades. They are manufactured in a variety of steels and handles. They work unbelievably well.

FTW!!!!^

Keep it simple to start. I collected spydercos for years before I got into ones that cost $100+. As nice as the pricier ones are such as a slyze bowie or domino, try the ford out before the Ferrari to make sure the companies style suits you.
