What Are the Must have Spydercos for Newbies?

I tabulated the responses thus far, in order from most to least recommendations. I was surprised the native did not get more recommendations, and none (except me) for the Caly - but the others make sense.

Nice effort!
But, keep in mind I left out all those listed before me that I felt were already represented, or already on your list of owning on your original post, so in that respect a count would be off...


....that said, I'm amazed Yojimbo 2 only has my solo vote?!
And seriously, NO MENTION for the Caly?! Maybe the lack of response and recommend was mostly due to you mentioning you already own one. The Caly is probably one of my all-timers. It's just a given. Like a prerequisite 101... :cool:
...also Manbug, and no mention of Jester. That should be a given that any Spyderfan does themselves a favor and has one on a keychain.
...nothing from Terzuola either? Crazy.

If just one then the PM2 if 2 then a Salt1 or Delica and a Military. Will cover most bases and isn't too expensive..
 
I only have 11 of the Delica's and 1 or 2 of 96% of the other Spydies I own but then there are a few left out that just did not do it for me and I did not get them just to say I had every Spydie ever made.! I have to really like the Knife before I pay the price just to say I have 100%..!**
You just can't beat a Spydie.!^^
 
About eight years ago, the Spyderco Military was my first one-hand opening folder and since then no other folder could kick it out of my right back pocket except for other Millies... (Bought and sold a lot of knives to find that out lol.) The 4" FFG, the perfect XL handle being not too thick and not too thin, the XL opening hole, the 4.2 oz, the blade angle, the light belly and the position of the edge compared to the handle, makes it the GOAT production EDC folder for me and by far the best kitchen folder on the market. Hence the absolute No.1 Must Have Spyderco, in my humble opinion...
