What are the positive things you love and why?

Hate to admit it but recently, good days/bad days- some good things happen, some bad... nothing touches my heart. Nothing moves me. I feel tired and just do not care anymore. I need a change 😯 anyone else just stuck in a rut?
Totally. But in my case, I think it’s because I’m seriously contemplating retirement, and I may already be in the process of mentally checking out.

Bill, I'm sorry to hear you feel that way. I tried your cell but got voicemail. I doubt anything I could say would be of any help, but I can listen, if you'd like.

I understand the feeling. Seems like I've been kiester deep in one crisis or another for the past couple of years now.

My bootstraps are nearly worn out, but not just yet...

On second thought, L lmalterna perhaps if you learned this to do this dance (dants?) I found yesterday it might get some blood pumping? Feel free to record your practice sessions and post here.

I need a change
The fact that you recognize that is likely to help. Change is usually difficult but as you seem to understand, it’s necessary if what you’re doing isn’t working out for you. Even if it used to. Good luck feeling better.

I love my family, animals, and nature like most folks here.

I think about knives more each day than anything else. Knives are my passion.

Distant second place goes to cars/driving. I particularly love my car, which I consider to be the pinnacle of pony cars: 2013 Boss 302 Laguna Seca edition. 😸

As a retired provider, I could not ignore your post. Having some simple blood tests done to make sure that you are not anemic or have any renal issues, skewed thyroid or low testosterone would be prudent. Depression screening like PDQ-9 are available online and can be eye opening.

The fact that you are aware of how you are feeling is very positive, and hopefully you will have answers to fix things soon.

Broccoli! Because not only does it have high levels of vitamin C and calcium in a highly bioavailable state, it has a ton of antioxidants and benefits not only muscle function but mental health as well.

I tried so hard to like broccoli for its health benefits. Even with cheese... I just can't get around it and it feels like a herculean effort just to swallow it. (I feel the same about asparagus.)

So I make due with green beans. Also, a bunch of other "vegetables" that are actually fruit, like cucumbers.

I hear ya there somewhat. Raw it is just so dry, I need to dip it in ranch or in a salad. Not bad cooked in food.

I enjoy it cooked in olive oil or coconut oil and season it like you would a steak. I like it that way as a side with meat, turns out pretty good.

Raw in salad with carrots, almonds and dried cranberries with ranch dressing. I like it steamed or barely cooked, but don’t like it at all if over cooked.

It gets mushy, but I don't mind it that way myself.

I can handle it if sparsely distributed in a creamy or cheesy soup.

BTW, I've spent many hours taking one for the team and teaching small children the art of eating things you don't like by chewing it with a mouthful of meat. 😜
