What are YOU doing?i

I am transitioning jobs, applying for a PHD and just got some micarta blocks in for trying my hand at some custom-home made-scales. I've got most of my plan down for the scales, and got enough to practice on. I have been hand smoothing with success, and now trying from the ground up...
 
Well, we had a new septic system put in about 2 months ago- finally killed the weeds off and planted seed a week ago- watering it now so might say I'm watching grass grow :D And in the ironic wisdom of life, I'll be mowing shortly~ figure that one out :oops:o_O

Oh, and still can't get over how good bacon smore's just have to be right?

In South Louisiana, mowing is usually an every 4 day affair, thankfully we have had a "drought" and it is more of a weekly-every 10 days thing now.

I will be mowing tomorrow as we just recently had some rain and the grass has shot up overnight.

My dad always said, if you want to grow a tree in South Louisiana, just throw a pencil in the ground...it will grow.

USS Blueback in Portland, Oregon. Stop by for a "human" guided tour sometime.
 
Finished the detail job on the SUV. Went on a fast bike ride to exercise. Raced an RC boat that I haven’t had out in a long time that my neighbor was begging to see run. Went to the range to shoot my new Glock for the first time. While I was gone, the mailman dropped off my new knife pouches for my BUSSESs. Tried them in and they’re a perfect fit. Now making dinner, then I’m gonna clean the gun. The best part of it all was that (so far) my 7yo twin daughters were by my side the entire day enjoying it all with me. On the way back from the range (their first time) one of them exclaimed “Best day ever” from the back seat.


I should mention, I have an amazing wife too. She’s on the couch trying to heal up what we think is a bulging disk. She has been having some sciatic pain lately and we are trying to heal it with steroids, NSAIDS and rest. If not better, MRI time

Is that bacon in that s'mores ????? Now I've put coconut in my s'mores , heck I've even drizzeled in some caramel. But pork I've never even thought of lol :)

Yes. Cooked over the campfire. A totally legit way to enjoy crackers Mallows chocolate and bacon.
 
Lucky guy. Talk about being able to do some serious long range shooting!
Plus, those pics are just beautiful. I would love to one day see it myself (the desert)
