What are you doing now for R&D?

Pffft yea in your freezer. :D

Edit- My R&D made a break through today. From now on I'm setting my welds in a homemade screw press and then its off to the power hammer.

My wife and I, (primarily my wife) have been doing our best to learn how to engrave. Picked up a GRS GraverMax with a gang of handpieces.

I just made a turntable for helping out with scrolls and other techniques. It's fashioned after the IKBS. Just a magnum version ;) Did a quick nitre blue to it too.

Here are a few shots of the machining and the finished turntable.

The main R&D work I'm doing right now, is fencing. German Longsword in the Liechtenauer tradition. I'm getting comfortable enough with it, and eventually want to look into Messer as well. I figure this should give me some insight on how swords and big blades should handle, and what they should be expected to withstand, etc.

Lloyd, let us know how that stone works out. What kind is it?
