What are you getting in 2016?

I'm planning on ordering the following

Tracy Larock peanut
Brent Cramer gunstock jack?
Keith Johnson Lanny's Clip?

I'd like to find a J Oeser Native and Case stag Tribal Spear. Or if J opens his books, I'd like to get placed on a reserve for a Native.

Fixed blade wise, something, anything from Scott Gossman. I would like to get a knife from John Kiedaisch again. Maybe a good old Kephart. Maybe Kepharts from both!

One of Scott Gossmans buddies has a fixed trapper by Scott he's told me is mine, I just need to get back with him and pay for it.

Shhh... It's a secret.

Nothing if my self discipline holds out. (yeah right) I'm trying to be content with the too many knives that I already own.

I ordered a Devin Thomas basket weave pattern Damascus blade for my Sebenza 21 from CRK today. Given CRK's lead time I can only hope it arrives before next New Years Eve.

Oh please let it be a single blade TC Barlow.
Maybe someone will be willing to part with one......LOL

Ive already got a Boker Barlow and three USA Old Timers in trade, an IXL Wostenholm Penknife in ivory from auction-bay, and a Opinel #6 in walnut on order. All in all I've spent $24 on knives for 2016.

I've got a Case Sodbuster Jr., a plain Jane model in black synthetic, winging its way to me. Won't arrive until what's technically next year, and it's headed straight for my hiking pack.

Sometime in January or February, probably, two custom orders should be completed: a Dogleg Jack from John Lloyd and a Chunky Frank from Willem O'Kelly (K'roo).

I don't have any knife-related plans after those three, but that will probably change!

Another Oeser is really all I want. A GEC or two may catch my eye but I am really looking at not spending much money on knives this year.

The first and only serious thing on my radar is a eureka jack. I've decided to pull the trigger as soon as I see one available. Ive also been really wanting to get my hands back on a 77 harness jack.
I've started thinking about customs a lot lately, but if that does happen it won't be any time soon.

2016... The year of gentlemanly restraint

That plan will probably last me until February.

I have a few orders that will be done in 16', a trapper coming from Enrique Pena in Markus Balbach, 600 layer, Leo IV damascus and 4000 year old bog oak. One of the finest folder makers in the world, Johnny Stout, is building me a Tribal Spear in VERY nice stag, damasus blade and bolster, the bolster will have a proud pin and polished so that the pattern only shows in the rat tail, damascus shield. ABS Master Smith, Russ Andrews is making me a gentlemen's bowie in tight ladder pattern with a #2 Hitachi Blue paper core, stag handle with damascus guard, ferrule and butt cap(file fit to the stag). I also hope to get a trapper from my friend and Master Smith, Jon Christensen, in W2 with hamon. He just sent me a few pics and they look great.

I've got a whole list of knives I plan on selling . . . that being said, I have a Dr T Vidar on order (although I'm waiting to hear back from him about possibly changing it to a Lanny's Clip), a forged slipjoint from South Africa, and possibly a Cramer Lanny's clip. We'll see what else the year brings! But like silenthunterstudios said, I've got to sell some off. I'm trying to thin down and keep just the 'keepers'.

I'd love to find one of Charlie's ancient barlows.

I've told myself that I can only get new knives if I get rid of some of what I have.

I've actually been considering that. Been wanting a backup to my Case/Bose Cattle knife. You know, just in case anything happens to the one I currently own. Maybe an Ebony version this time. Might have to sell off a few to justify it.

these will probably get here in january, so far i have the Eric's Jack from Waynorth, and the S&M barlow that went back to KSF in exchange for a new one hand picked by Tyler. In the next credit card cycle, i have bookedmarked, the schatt and morgan tear drop set, some hen and rooster coffin handle (still pondering). I hope to get a TC clip in stag or ebony wood if possible, NIT. Hmm probably need to cut back a bit with all those S&Ms, unless something looks good. Maybe Gec will make some 48 single blades this year :D but if anything nice on the for sale section comes along (ahem Eric's Jacks) for a reasonable price, fair game.

Been wanting to get a custom Damascus fixed blade from my Uncle who has his own knife making shop , and gets exotic handle materials - just haven't decided on a design yet.

Happy New Year everyone !
