What are you getting in 2016?

Hopefully I can buy another Northfield, maybe I'll get a barlow, as I only own one old Valley Forge I keep for fruit duty when I'm relaxing. The Stockman I have now is great but a bit big and sometimes I like a smaller knife on hand, since I carry a No. 8 Opi in the back right pocket for heavy duty cutting always, with whatever in the watch pocket. Maybe I'll buy another Mora and make it a sheepsfoot too, been wanting to do that for ages. Finally, I'm gonna try to get a nice Old Timer or Uncle Henry to clean up for my dad.

Happy new Year,
Connor

I would like a 38 three blade whittler if they are going to be in production agian this year. I might get one of the vipers coming up. Depending on what blade and covers are offered for the 77 northfield barlow I might get another one of them too.

For 2016? More than I need, less than I want.;)

We'll see what the new year brings.

Very well put, haha. I have a few customs on the way in the next week or so, a few on order that should be done in the first few months of the year and a few planned for later in the year. Plus some 85EO's. Good thing I just signed up for some OT!

GEC 47 Viper, 85 Spear EZ open and hopefully a 92 Talon. Oh, and whatever SFOs or Barlows Charlie comes up with next year and the 2016 Bladeforums knife if there is one.

I have an #85 SFO on reserve from Mike. I will probably pull the trigger on a Ka-Bar Dog's Head barlow, and finally a replacement Pemberton in a nice bone should GEC grace this earth with another run of these gems.

i got what i wanted in 2015. for folders, i got a couple GEC's in jigged bone (42 and 72) that are keepers. i also went into the year looking for a custom puukko .... i ended up with two!

for 2016, i plan at getting back to "basics". i would like to get a buck 110 in jigged bone and one in micarta covers.

Happy New Years gentlemen.

I plan to get some knives I can rescue. I also plan to start practicing to build my own knives. A sad, but inevitable New Year's resolution is I will have to steer clear of the higher end (GEC, Queen, S&M, etc etc) traditionals.

I would like to pick up a lot more Camillus TL-29s though. and a Black Linen Micarta S&S Mudbug. For some reason, black handled knives are calling to me.....haha.

I'd like to pick up a 3 blade #38 whittler and either a black jigged or brown saw cut single blade Madison Barlow.

May also look into another fixed blade as well.

2016 will hopefully be the year of the purge for me. I want to eliminate a large part of my collection and keep the knives that are special and dear. If all goes well, and the tradition continues, I will pick up a forum knife again, fates be willing.

that makes me wonder, when do the discussions for the forum knife usually begin? whittling down on the list of possible makers now arent we with CSC gone...

I definitely want to hop on the GEC train in 2016. Depending upon what becomes available, I'll look to pick up either a #47 Viper, and #71 Bull Nose, or a #99 Farmer Lock.

This year has been very good for knives, been extremely satisfied so I can't see next year being the same.

I think I may be getting rid of quite a few knives actually.....

I'm planning to buy a nice traditional fixed blade next year. I don't know what model yet, but maybe something like the Linder Mark 1...
Regards, Daniel

My first and possibly only custom - probably 2 blades, I am working on the possible pattern at the moment. I am not fully decided on the maker yet.

I am also tempted to try a few more production knives like Case swayback. And I would love to try a some of the case-bose collaborations, but that would probably not fit the budget.

I'm anxious to see what Tony Bose and Case plan for the 2016 Collaboration Knife. I almost always buy the forum knife, assuming there is one. Other then that, I'll only buy something after much thought and possibly selling a few. I have way too many knives now.
