What are you opinions on SOG?

Twitch, Vulcan, and Seal series are all winners. The AUS8 on the Twitch and Seal takes a good, shaving sharp edge that doesn't last long under hard use, but is pretty easy to put back on. The Vulcan series with VG10 blades hold a good edge, and its unassisted arc lock mechanism is awesome - up there with Benchmade. A Vulcan mini and the Twitch II are among my favorite EDC knives.

I'm not a SOG fan myself. I wonder why they think they need to advertise their name ALL over their knives

No idea. They have a new-ish one out this year that I find interesting... Revolver Hunter 2.0 which is a downsized version of the the orginal Robbie Robinson design. It might be a pretty good woods bumming or hiking blade.

I really like the Mini Vulcan and Twitch series also. The Seal Pup Elite was a knife that I bought immediately upon its release years ago. I have since moved to other brands. But it is still a good knife overall.

I have tuned away from the SOG line for the most part. I believe my last SOG was the Access Card 2.0 which I think is a pretty niffty knife if you want something very thin.

Studies and Observation Group should study and observe more. They have fallen off a bit from the classic Seki City tradition. Its still a hair above most of the Asian value blade companies though.

Sanrenmu makes the Tenacious on one assembly line and Replica Benchmade knock-offs on another!

Its all around the same quality but SOG has a slight edge over most and is on par with Sanrenmu IMO.

I've given SOG chance after chance after chance to impress me... and I have always been disappointed. Latest disappointment (and most likely the last) was two Aegis Digi Camo TiNi's - if I were SOG, I'd be embarrassed to let these leave QC at the factory. Total junk - and I know it wasn't a "fluke" because I had two of the same model with the exact same problems. No more SOG for me.

SOG needs better product class distinction. Nobody buys a Byrd for $25 and then rags on Spyderco for quality, but the low end SOG products give them a bad name. As a rule of thumb the Seki City SOG's are good (though maybe not always the best buy) and everything else is sketch.

From what I have seen, I like the Sogzilla series, but you might as well buy the Spyderco instead.

It is because of my love/hate relationship with the Flash that I will think twice before adding another SOG to my collection. To much blade play.

Over the years, I have purchased 4 SOG blades and the only one I would buy again is the AirSOG. I don't think it is still made though.
