What are you watching & why? (splain)

Okay just started rurouni kenshin again (Netflix)......

Based on an anime but live action... not sure why I like these movies so much but I do

This is my 4th time starting the 3 movie series... maybe it's because of the K20 lol

I think the only anime movie I have ever seen as an adult is Howl's Moving Castle (or something like that) and it was surprisingly good.

Just finished the boys

What a wild series!
Watched the first I think two seasons of that before ending my Prime membership. Kicked mucho bungholio. Eager to watch the rest.
Good shows! Didn't like the way Saul ended, for Saul/Jimmy or Kim. But still loved the show overall.
Just finished the last 4 “present day” episodes. Your comments had me worried but I thought it was pretty good. It ended on a warm fuzzy note anyway. Jimmy deserved shiv’ed after cancer guy. Turned antagonist like Walter but in the end he manned up. was expecting a hook. Hopefully they put the series to rest.

I just finished watching John Carpenter’s Vampires and I think it was excellent with the wild killing and unnecessary swearing which had to have been done on the fly, there’s no way all those insults were scripted. This movie had to have taken forever to film, James Woods seems like he would just have everyone rolling laughing the whole time haha!

You had me at, "wild killing and unnecessary swearing."

Yeah it was good stuff! Not too much poetry or fancy filming going on but man, when a master vampire slayer tells a priest to “Shut the F Up!” and asks him if he “got a little wood” while he was getting his ass kicked, you have to enjoy it. Lots of slapping and backhands too which always add a little extra spice!

Damn, you're digging out the classics! That is an excellent vamp movie, especially if one is weary of all the glitter vampires that seem to dominate today's cinema.

Watched a couple of decent flicks last night for our movie night.

First one was The Wave - a Norwegian disaster flick that goes over what could happen based on past events. I've really been enjoying the cinema coming out of Norway in the last few years. The stories they have to tell are incredible - plus, the acting and cinematography are usually quite excellent.

Worth a watch if you like disaster flicks.

The second one we watched was a British action flick with Scott Adkins called Avengement. I really enjoyed the fight choreography in this film, I felt it highlighted Scott's martial arts talent quite well. Otherwise, it's a great old fashioned revenge movie.

Finished watching "A Spy Among Friends" on a free trial of MGM+

Good actors and acting in a pretty solid retelling of the Kim Philby affair wherein British intelligence was penetrated by Soviet controlled double agents.
The story jumped back and forth in time so you had to pay attention or it would get even more convoluted than the story itself.

Damian Lewis, (Band of Brothers), and Guy Pearce, (L.A. Confidential), star.

Worth a watch if you are a fan of the genre...Tinker, Tailor and the like.
