1.Rethink my 3-day pack, and pick up a spare pack, stock it up.
2.Buy more ammo.
3.Continue to stay in shape.
4.Do more weekend excursions to test skills.
5.Look into water purification on a larger scale.

I'm going to throw everything out the window and start from scratch.

I've been into preparedness since the 1980s and in the past few years I have become so convoluted and disorganized in my preparedness that I would be stepping in the S if the S would hit the fan.

Along with that....

-Get rid of all of the pack rat junk in my house.
-Do some much needed home maintenance.
-Add some motion lights around the house.
-Completely switch to rechargeable batteries.
-Install new smoke alarms and fire extinguishers.
-Install a peep hole at the front door.

Of course I'm still waiting to see if they will be declaring eminent domain to build a new NFL stadium on top of my house so if that happens then I'll scratch most of the above.

buy land
get into solar cells
continue switching to rechargeables
few more guns, more ammo
learn, read, and practice survival skills (which is the most important I think)

To make a 72hr kit (for in the house). Power outages or problems with water distribution are occuring more often now. So, basically it will be a kit with:

3 x 4 x 2 liters of water (4 persons)
a gas stove
some food
medical supplies
candles
battery powered radio

Finish the BOB (currently a bug out box) and find a couple of packs to make it two bug out bags.

Get out and practice some skills I haven't done in years (lashing, shelter building, more firestarting).

Learn to identify more plants in my area (an area I've always struggled with).

Enjoy the family I have been blessed with which is why I practice and prepare to survive.

Charlie

(oh and the nookie thing is high on the list) :-)

Although not exactly for SHTF purposes, I'd like to buy a defense-capable gun, since all I have are a pair of .22s. A cheap pump 12 guage and/or a .357 revolver are what I want.

If you're good with that .22, you'll ruin an intuders night!

True enough jacknife, but if someone hears that "shick-shick" sound of a pump gun in the dark, I won't have to be good with a .22!

I live in a very quiet, rural area where not much happens. However, if something bad did happen, the cops are probably about 20 minutes away so 911 is reduced to "dial-a-prayer."

1 - I hope to shoot my hat at the trap range this year.
2 - Spend less on gear and do more with what I have.
3 - Read more/improve the "outdoor" section of my meager library.

In honesty, I am going to relax and enjoy my life, secure in the knowledge that I have made preparations. I will brush up from time to time, tweak things here and there. I want to do more camping and hiking, which will be a good test of most of my skills anyway. I would also like to make some decent career moves, so that I can survive the everyday.

Remodelling my BOB in less expensive gear that I am still going to find durable.

Build more succinct BOBs for family vehicles.

Reestablish old and learn new skills. (2 classes in March)

Exercise and camp more with family.

Take up archery again.

Read, read and then read more.

I got it last year for it's "stopping power!"

stop focusing on the rambo-ness of survival and get a real grasp on the stuff I will need to stay safe here in the house.

Much needed maint on the house.

More ammo.

Lots more water.

Look into getting off the electric grid...I need a new roof, so I will look into solar options.

Finish my BOB. Get a rifle and/or scattergun and a pistol when I turn 21 in Sept. just in time to get it in before elections...
