What Benchmades do you NOT like?

I want some more, different 3 inch models out of benchmade, I don't like the mini barrage, or bone collector, or 707 sequel....

The only one i can really say I don't like and would never carry is the Contego. Love the Rift, but sold the Contego not long after I got it, mostly because it's just too large, and very rough around the edges with the aggressive G10. I would like to see a rift with the same steel, but the rift is fine the way it is.
Also, the other Osborne designs are probably my favorite, so i really wanted to like the Contego. The 940 was the knife that got me into knives, and the Barrage is one of the few AO knives that I actally like.

I like the mini grip, but the large grip has always been really weird to me, the checking is larger, the handles feel much cheaper because they are larger in scale. I really don't know why people like it so much. I do like the mini though, it doesn't feel as cheap (but still not a terribly huge fan of the handle material).

I'm not so fond of the teeny 3150, which I bought for my wife - and she would subsequently give it back. To me it is too small and an auto - both big negatives to me - and it now resides in a display case. My very first BM was a 440C 551 Grip - which, new in the box, was so dull that it needed external heat to cut butter. Several years would pass before I'd buy my second BM - a D2 201 - also dull. It joined the 551 - and numerous other dulled knives. I finally bought a Sharpmaker and no longer feared dull knives - and started buying those BMs I wanted, never to find another dull one! I tried carrying the 551 - and realized I hated it - what cheap feeling/looking scales! It's one I could live without (The 3150 is cute!). Sadly, when I met Mel Pardue locally, a genuinely nice gentleman, he asked what I thought of the Grip... oops.

I don't like the 300sn flipper. I like the blade shape but the handles are way to thick, I think benchmade could do better in terms of design
. maybe it wasn't intended to be an edc type blade but IMHO its just too thick..

The 300sn did not feel good in my hand. the clip just sat in a weird place. I love the looks of the larger BM's but when i use them people look like what the heck do you have that huge tactical looking thing for (Bone Collector, Rift, 581, etc)? I tend to keep the the 3" and smaller models now as i work in an office and none of my cuttings tasks are heavy duty. NOthing against the larger ones they just don't fit my mold at the moment.

Griptilians never tickled my fancy. The Valox and Noryl GTX handle materials feel too light and cheap to me. I know they sell well and I respect them but there are too many other Benchmades that I would rather own.

745 Lum Mini Dejavoo
I bought one new, back when they first came out.
Carried it for about a month, until one day at work, I somehow got the blade to unlock while doing a random cutting task.
It kinda scared me. After that, I didn't feel comfortable using it.
I gave it to my oldest brother, and he still carries it, to this day.
Love all the Benchmades I currently have, but they all have Axis locks!

Finally handled a 740, right hand only designs kinda tick me off, my main draw to Benchmade was ambidextrous knives, before I knew that there were different steels, before build quality or anything else really mattered.

Sad to say I won't be looking for one, glad I got the 741 though.

Ditto! Especially since I'm left handed.
