Woodchucks don't truly hibernate, they enter what's called torpor... I actually think it's breeding season right now.I'm guessing it's too cold to chuck wood, so probably hibernating?
Edited to add: Just checked Stokes Guide to Animal Tracking and Behavior... Breeding season starts late January and runs to March.
