What Brand Am I Missing For My EDC Rotation?

Guys, I've been pouring through the suggestions and there are lot of knives I'd have never even thought to look at.

As it stands now, I'm thinking about a fixed blade as it something (other than my hunting user CRK Nyala) that I don't have anything like.

So, Bark River or ESEE?

Second question, what size? It will be for camping, hiking, bushcraft, kayaking and some weekend EDC.

Also consider Becker. The BK15/16/17 (tweeners) are perfect for what you listed. The Becker line in general is cheap, good quality, ergonomic, and super tough.

Reviewish type thing of the BK17:

By the way AJack60, The Beast is a knife I've never heard of. It look great and it is now on my buy list.

And for the record, if I had a Hinderer, no less 4 of them, one would get carried if I liked it or not.

Well, I may have just spent some money. This place is friggin dangerous. OP, you are on your own from here on out, lol!

Wait till you start lookin at the BRKT neckers lol there are a ton of handle options for them made by BRKT. Atleast the necker 2 is easy to come by, try gettin a necker 1 no one has them in stock :(

I was going to "3rd" the Lion Steel TiSpine, then you mentioned a fixed blade. So I'll recommend something in the Falkniven line too.

Opinel's. Every knife knut needs a few Opinel's to play with to experience the cutting of these low cost wonders. Once you try one, you'll never be far from one again.

As has been mentioned, you need a William Henry. I'd also add a Grayman. It would go well with your Strider.

And you also really need a few traditional slipjoints. I'd recommend a GEC #72 or #73 in stag to start.

Haha - I hear you, brother! That's the BRKT Bravo Necker II. I traded for that one, and I immediately bought two more in Canvas Micarta - love 'em.

This is not going to go very well for my wallet. What knife is that with black G10?

I see, I have a Bravo 1 in S35VN. It's one impressive knife, and I was blown away by the quality of the built and the cutting power it has.

Well, if you have that many then I would agree they must be pretty good. I've already ordered one, thanks for lightening my wallet. LoL. ;)
Good call - MCUSTA is an overlooked brand, IMHO:

Hmm, that Katana folder is beautiful. You may need to do a collection thread one day. You got some really cool pictures and excellent knives to boot.

Thanks, Rev! I just wish I would've taken pics of all the ones I've let go over the years - that would be something to see! And, yes, the Necker II's are awesome - they'll do almost anything my Bravo-1's will do when pushed into service (leather gloves recommended, though, or hot spots may develop with hard use).

Meh, talking about production I have to disagree. Not "missing" anything in my humble opinion. Very illogical and expensive folders: chisel grind for lefties; titanium liner-lock with opposite steel liner; very soft 154CM for sharpening in the field. Only to consider if you're going to be deployed in my humble opinion. (And even then I'd pick something else.)

Thats why there is so much variety. Emersons are the only knives that have the wave and thumb disk. They also have some of the best designs, in my opinion, that are not only great for utility purposes but also ideal in tactical situations or at least intimidation. I agree they're expensive for the build quality and material quality. Thats why I had to have mine customized.

If you are still thinking folder, as addylo suggested above Grayman is a great USA maker, this is the DUA:

I got to the same position you're in. I ended up selling everything I wasn't in love with and started getting some nicer knives. Here's some suggestions.
Some awesome mid-techs/customs you should look at
Grayman Dua
3 sisters forge beast
Hinderer XM-18 3.5" (I've owned all 3 blade styles. spanto is my favorite)

But, My favorite is the Curtiss F3 medium. The basic one starts at $500 and he's taking orders right now...

yeah, I know. Just can't put the CRK or the Beast down. What I like about the beast is that it has a 3" blade and a full size handle. You never know, I may deplete the Hinderers one day
