I like the pattern bladetech/ kershaw uses. It kinda combines serrations with plain edge

Victorinox and Leatherman seem to be my preferred serrations. Why? Because they are acutely ground edges, and the serrations shallow. This help keep the peaks strong and on the whole, easy to sharpen. Spyderco gets lots of credit for popularizing serrations, but in the end, I find the wide bevel, deep serrations and tall points an idea whose time has passed. Cold Steel serrations I dislike, as they are nearly unsharpenable without specialized tools, and those tiny teeth can make for relatively tall, narrow, weak peaks, prone to bending/breaking. The rounded Kershaw serrations look interesting, but I've never significantly used them.
