What brands did you discover through Bladeforums?

ESEE and Becker (heard of Becker before the forums, but didnt know of their return until seeing it on BF)

Was in the midst of researching ESEE and Becker when I stumbled upon the forums. The user input on the forums helped me tremendously when it came time to purchase. I have no regrets and continue to value the content of the various forums here.

Lots of brands and names I learned through here except for older big names like
Gerber, Buck, Case, Loveless.
Besides these names, I've learned much about steels and heat-treatment, outdoor
techniques related to knives and sharpening.

Case, Hen and Rooster, GEC, Canal St. Cutlery, BRKT, and Blackjack Blades jump to mind...

In addition to almost every custom maker I know of.

All of them other than Case and Buck. Sad, I know. Especially the introduction to Chris Reeve knives. That's the straw that broke my wallet's back.

CRK, Busse, and Emerson are the big ones i discovered on BFC

Also some makers that i like such as Jeremy Horton, and Andy Roy(fiddleback forge)...i hope to own a few knives from each of them soon:D

While I knew about most of the major brands, BFC has helped me to get to know some of the smaller ones and many customer makers that I wouldn’t have been exposed to otherwise.

Practically everything that doesn't show up in the usual retail stores I've been to: Spyderco, Strider, Chris Reeve, Mcusta, Kershaw, Great Eastern, Queen, Zero Tolerance, Emerson, Lone Wolf... well, you get the idea. Prior to this forum, I just knew of Case, Buck, Leatherman, Schrade, Victorinox, Wenger, CRKT, Cold Steel and Benchmade.

I knew(or was aware of) about most of them already, but the ones I never heard of before BF were Chris Reeve & Busse.

Although I'd heard-of/seen Queen and Kershaw, I would never have bought either brand before Bladeforums...now I'm glad I did.

As for customs; I'd never have bought a David Mosier Karambit. Again, I'm glad to have done so.

Kershaw and ZT.:D

And Queen, S-M, RAT/ESEE, Busse, Michael Morris , and a whole lot more. This is a great place to re-start an addiction.

Before I found BFC I really only knew Benchmade knives. Since joining I have had a chance to read about and try a whole slew of different knives from different makes.

Most notably are Al Mar, Chris Reeve, David Mosier, DDR, Dozier, Elishewitz, Emerson, Hinderer, Kershaw, Microtech, Spyderco, and Strider Knives just to name a few.

I discovered traditional American knives and a number of YouTube knife/multitool reviewers via this forum.

All of them besides Buck, Case, Benchmade, and Spyderco. I had read a book
where the main character used am Emerson CQC 7 and I didn't even know
if that was a real knife or just made up for the book so I decided to
do a little search and stumbled across this forum. I quickly learned about
the vast knife world I had been missing. Turned out to be quite an expensive
little search.:D
