What Buck are you carrying today?

DirtDawg..In the Gainesville VA if you had a shieth knife on your belt you absolutely would be talking to a guy with a gun on his hip..5 or 6 years ago I had one on my belt and thankfully was escorted to my car and dropped it off so I could go to my appointment. Maybe a 303 or 309 in your pocket would be ok unless you were asked to empty your pockets. The trouble is that it's a felony if they want to push it and you are cuffed and stuffed. Common sense is lacking at times and it would be bad luck to run into a security guy who suffers from that condition. I was being admitted so that's probably why I got asked so many times.

I do not disagree with what you say. It just seems a bit odd to me that the same person that was once trusted with a loaded M-16 and a jet fighter pilot's life suddenly cannot be trusted to carry a pocketknife into a military veteran's medical facility. It's a crazy world we live in now. Oh, and one more thing... I do keep them both out of sight. I don't wish to invite trouble. And when I'm being admitted to any medical facility, they stay in the Jeep, unless I'm going through the emergency room. I did that a couple of weeks ago and had the forethought to remove the 112 beforehand. When I go back in next week, they will stay home. Thank you for your service to our country.

military even has odd rules. could be an active soldier and not allowed to have a gun on base.......

what blew me away was a fella I work with...a 3 tour army veteran in 2nd Iraq war, during the worst of it...came back was in national guard.....got called out couple times for patrol...and they issued no ammo to them. he said everytime they called him out they issued no ammo for patrol. not in war I mean...... florida duty called for storm protection type stuff.

so I said your standing duty with a rifle and no ammo and he said yep. also said no one had ammo...wasn't even around to get if needed. also said good thing no one knew......crazy we don't even trust national guard to actually guard against issues with ammo. quite a world we live in anymore........

I carried the little elk 309 again. I’m really getting to enjoy this little one. Back in high school I carried a 309 a lot my senior year. Forget how easy they were in the pocket. I started looking around yesterday online and to my surprise I found the 309 discontinued.🥲59B8BADB-BA2A-4D58-9913-C8F304D45365.jpegDB15D552-3771-45DA-BCF3-63154230E77B.jpeg

The 417 Budgie has been one of my main carries since I got it and was in my pocket this morning. The 726 mini SpitFire arrived today and immediately went in my pocket - bumping my 417 for the time being...
