What Buck are you carrying today?

Now I lay me down to rest,
Min'ral Oil is just the best.

Overnight on the bench, followed by a final polish this morning with a super-soft old sock, then onto my hip.

Today's carry... 1988 Buck 303 Redbone Cadet & 1980 Buck 112 Ranger
The Cadet is in my front pocket nearly all of the time.

The Ranger has been my hip carry of late.
The photo below was taken a few years back when it was in need of a bit of TLC.
I was too busy having fun to be concerned with polishing brass that summer.

That 303 is gorgeous. I don’t blame you for carrying it all the time.

nice. did ya do the whole thing with that 112? stop to resharpen? 420hc steel right? thanks.
For those that wondered, while putting my gear away today I took the 112 out. There was the slightest of a burr on the blade. It still cut paper easily but a few strokes on a strop and it was slicing like a laser again!! I’m guessing the burr came when I was taking the back straps off and was up against bone.

Went surf fishing yesterday and used the Vantage 345 to cut my bait shrimp. I caught a small Bluefish that tore his mouth badly on the hook so I kept him for bait, my brother in law is on the way to surf fish this morning - I will cut the Bluefish up with this Buck 121 and see if we can catch a Drum in the surf. OH

OH, do you ever eat the blues, or are they pretty much used for bait?

The Zieg The Zieg that one is a late Fisherman, pre-date stamp, thin but not flexible, more like a Guide but slightly thinner.

longbow1968 longbow1968 some folks eat them, they are served in area restaurants seasonally. I used to eat them (my late uncle Bob used to fry them in butter) but I broke out bad last time I ate one (they are Mackerel) so I leave them alone now.
