What Buck are you carrying today?

Thank you.

I just received the Yellowhorse 55 on 12/5/22 but I just started carrying it on 12/12/22. The brass hasn't had enough time to tarnish yet. I've been carrying the Nickel Silver 112 since late May. I don't use my pocketknives very often and they always ride in a pocket by themselves with no other items.

I suspect that the 55 will begin to tarnish soon despite the fact that I haven't even used it yet.

I work in a manufacturing warehouse where I encounter about 95% of my cutting chores. Mostly opening boxes and cutting shrink wrap off of pallets. They have a rule that we can only use a company issued utility knife with a blade that automatically retracts after each cut. Fortunately, there is no rule against carrying our personal knives. We just can't use them. I don't like it any better than it sounds but it is what it is, I'm afraid.
There's nothing more manly than whipping out an auto-retract box cutter. Ask me how I know. Prior to retirment in 2015, I led a similar life, only they banned us from even carrying any other knife into the plant. Little did they know...

This Buck Stag 303 has been hole up entirely too long in the knife roll. Today seemed like a good day to let it breath for a few days. This is a used knife that came to me in near-mint condition a few years back; I immediately put it to work on a daily basis for a spell. Although the date code shows 2006 as the year of manufacture, according to Joe H. at Buck Knives, this knife was not listed until the 2007 catalog. That was an interesting tidbit of information that took some investigation on my part to procure. He said that was common procedure, to use parts in stock to prepare for the upcoming catalog.

I love the hollow ground blades, and the palm swell on that Stag is second to none. It really is a beautiful knife. What looks like a crack in the scale is just natural coloration.

I went with this little Buck today..I had given it to KathyJo around 2018 but shortly after she could not find it. A month ago I was going through her very many purses before giving them to family and friends and it was in a little zippered pocket lolol! Me and the kids decided to continue our annual Christmas Eve party tradition and my house is full of family cooking and getting ready for the party. It's a wonderful day..20221224_150514.jpg

This 286 is a blast from the past..For about 14 months KathyJo and I called the project "Saratoga" and this was the only band Buck from that brief window in time. I had completely forgotten about this one until 2 days before Christmas when this turned up. Kathy had kept hers in one of her many wicker baskets and as the kids and granddaughter's were getting the house ready for the Christmas party it was found and put on my desk. The 'Band Bucks' had to be a USA made knife and I usually picked one of the Web Specials to have Buck engraved for the band. I have no idea what happened to mine! But I'm really happy Kathy kept hers..20221227_141859.jpg20221227_142634.jpg
