What Buck are you carrying today?

I like your “Preach the Word” Benchmade! Where did you get it done like that?

Thanks, mill428. I spoke at a marriage retreat in Indiana about two or three years ago. The host pastor of the church was also a knife guy. He had this mini grip built for me from the Benchmade custom website. Sweet blade. He knew that I was really into Buck Knives and Benchmade Knives.

I am impressed with your Greek skills!

What a great gift! I've never met a pastor who is also a knife guy. I was in the ministry for 14 years and longed to find another like minded pastor who was interested in that sort of thing. I thought I was the only one. It's good to finally find out that I'm not! I found having "normal" hobbies helped open doors with folks in the congregation I wouldn't have connected with otherwise. It's apparent you have a nice collection if the past few entries are any indication.

Oh, and the language skills are thanks to 4+ years of Greek studies under brilliant professors at DTS.

Fantastic! DTS! You probably had Dr. Wallace for some of that Greek, right? A couple of us in my congregation enjoy the NET.

I agree with you on having normal hobbies. It does open doors, and it's also personally refreshing. Give me a fishing pole and a quality knife and time on a lake and all the air comes back in my tires!

I'm in my 30th year of pastoral ministry. Been quite a ride. Very grateful. Also do some seminary teaching at three institutions.

Yes, I had Dr. Wallace for a few classes. Brilliant man! Although, I didn't know any that weren't. I was at DTS when the NET was being developed. Still have my Beta version around somewhere. I recently stepped back from pastoral work to develop a ministry for pastors and missionaries to help them, as you say, put air back in their tires. There is a huge need for that in my area.

And to keep with the theme of the thread... This is what I plan on having in my pockets tomorrow.
