Wildcatting today... kinda.

Picked up a 7-30 Waters Super 14 barrel for the Contender a couple of weeks back, and the weather has me cooped up, so why not get some fire forming done, right?

In the pocket is my mapke maple canoe.

I have the same caliber in a super 14 as well. This barrel is a great shooter. The first barrel had a tiny butt on the muzzle crown and would not group at 25 yards, yet alone 200.
Enjoy it.

Ready for some banging!
A variety of powders, a variety of loads. Using Nosler 120gr Ballistic Tips.
Chasing 2,200 to 2,400fps and under 1" at 100 yards.
Whatever combo gets me that with a single digit SD is the winner. I'll fine tune with .1 grain until I get .75" or better.
Now just need the weather to clear up a bit to head to the club.

I've got my fingers crossed. The deer on my farm are like ducks in a barrel. Figured I'd make it more sporting.

I like the size & the light weight of those, and I've built a custom Spitfire many times, but never pulled the trigger: Magnacut, carbon fiber scales, black spacer & clip.

I finally decided to make my BCCI Koa 112 a user. It would be a crime to keep this beauty in 440C in a box!

The ad said the sheath was imported. The label on the box even says the sheath is imported, but the sheath itself says Proudly Made in the USA!

Still, I’m ordering a brown leather sheath from Ed Costa.

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised when mine came with a USA made sheath. Those things have some nice looking wood.
