I carry a cold steel voyager XL vaquero serrated, cold steel secret edge. And if I'm feeling like it the cold steel GI tanto as my edc :D
What do you guys/lady's carry ?

Voyager Vaquero 4" Large Serrated.

Fits my hand like it was made for it.

Also carry a Spyderco Civi at times, but wish I held off buying it once I saw the Black Talon II Serrated.

I just don't like the way the Civi fits and feels in my hand.

Also carry my Vaquero Grande 6" Serrated, circa 2008 on occasion. Found it on craigslist for $40.00 in NM condition.

Here's a pic of the 6" Vaquero Grande in VG-1:

CS also had a few pocket clips remaining for this knife and sent me one at no charge. It's stashed away and not currently on the knife.

I have 2 like yours 1 has no clip came with a nylon sheath( guessing was 1st year ) and other one has clip also never carried . I carry a X2 Voyager VG1 japan every where I go. I got a new Voyager XL can't warm up to it. Its in box in drawer. . I for got I carry a KUDU for general cutting chores . My X2 is my Back up to my pistol.

I also have a newer XL Voyager Vaquero, but it doesn't feel right in my hand even though it has a deep finger groove.

The downside of the older Vaquero Grande is that if you were to stab and hit bone, your forefinger might not stop and will meet the serrations on the blade, resulting in the possible loss of your finger.

For SD knives, I prefer "slashers" instead of "stabbers", such as those with serrated edges as they tend to rip thru clothing and even leather while I've seen PE knives practically slide off of leather.

You also have to get closer to someone to stab someone then to slash them. I would prefer to do neither, but if I'm in an unfortunate situation with no choice, my preference is a serrated edge.

Slash and run. I'm not looking to kill anyone, just to give myself enough time to get out of a tough situation should it arise.

Cold Steel Recon 1 Tanto. I've carried it almost everyday for six years. I got rid of the black coating on the blade and now it looks more stonewashed. I do, however, wish I had gotten the spearpoint.

This bad-mother-shut-yo-mouth...

I just ordered a second one for my left pocket. I'm going to name/engrave them Truth and Reconciliation.

I've been carrying a Recon 1 clip point for about four years now. I'm going to trade it in for the new version with the XHP steel.

I carry my Cold Steel Hold Out II as one of a few EDCs these days. It has a strong AUS8a blade with a very sharp edge, yet remains light-weight, partly due to a rigid G10 handle that doesn't require a steel liner for reinforcement. This was one of my first Cold Steel knives, and I like it very much. I've posted some info at http://www.devonbuy.com/cold-steel-hold-out-ii/, with size comparison with its larger sibling, the Hold Out I.

I used to carry the Hold Out I as well, but bringing that out as an EDC was just plain pushing my luck!

Hold Out series is my favorite designs from CS that I've had. Have 3 II's and 1 I. Such a slicing machine and very durable. Have 2 Recon 1 Clip points also that get used alot. Have had Voyager and Espada also but didn't like them as much. Would like to get a Talwar soon.

Med Voyager. New school.

Sometimes.

I really wish they would go back to the simpler handles and stouter blade. The old Voyagers were so much better before they "improved" them.

I agree. I like the profile of the old Voyager handles more than the new. If they put a forefinger notch in the old version handle, it would [IMO] be better than the "horse shoe" look of the new handles. I'm debating if I want an XL Voyager or XL Recon I because of it.

Dunno about needing a more stout blade though....4mm thick is pretty stout.

Ya they're still thick, but the FFG leaves most of the blade pretty thin compared to the hollow saber grind on the old schools. Specially the tip.

Rolex DSSD and Rajah 2.
