What Color Delica?

Well, I received my Blue Delica FFG today. I have to say, I'm a little underwhelmed. I can tell it's a quality knife but it just isn't for me. I'll be sending it back.

Because it's blue? Because it doesn't cut? Doesn't fit your hand well? Why?

No, the color is nice, it's super sharp, fits my hand, etc. By all appearances it's a great blade that is well made. However the style, after handling it in person, just doesn't appeal to me. Nothing wrong with the knife, just personal preference.

Maybe just can't get over the name subconsciously :) Is it the slim build and FRN? I'm always waiting for a return of the old blade shape, thickness, etc. Loved my 90's Enduras like crazy

haha... we'll yea, it's definitely slimmer. I had an endura once and it was pretty think. The blade on the delica ffg is quite slim, but I know it's that way for a reason.

Was the Gen 1 blade any thicker? I've got two Generation 2 Enduras (both mid-90s) and their blades are the same thickness as the Endura 4 (on the right, below). The handle scales are a little thicker on the current model, but only ever-so-slightly.

Old ones always seemed more hand filling to me than new models maybe because of the integral clip, don't like the dropped tip of new ones either more so than the thickness of the blade. This is off of fondling and gawking them now and then and not owning any of the new Spydies, last ones purchased in 2005 and were original Paramilitary and a second Native.

Delicas have never been my flavor even though I saw a lot of them used and lots of good feedback off and on the web. I would love to have a bunch of 90's Enduras kicking around, mine that were 96-99 era were my main whittling knives and took a ton of throws into pallets during down time on deployments and training exercises and lots of other use and abuse. Would love to see if current gen could hang in there the same way.

Heck yeah; I used an Endura for whittling for years. I gravitate toward my Schrade stockman these days, but the Endura was excellent for woodwork. I agree with you that the older tip of the previous generations was better suited for that type of cutting.

I Love The Delicas And Enduras But Wish They Had A Choil To Choke Up On The Blade.
Blue Is My Favorite Color And I Had A Blue Endura At One Point And I Loved It.
I Now Have A Brown Delica And I Like The Earthy Color And Such But If I Bought One I Would Go Blue, And I Would Buy An Orange One, Then I Would Switch And Have Two Blue And Orange Delicas Lol. I Would Do The Same With An Endura, And Sell The Extras.
