If you like a big knife then CASE's Big Stockman is one of the finest you can get. Very decent W&T their cv patinates very evenly in my experience, decent sized blades. Amber Bone is my preference but there are others.
True, I don't care for a large heavy knife in trouser pocket but it's fine in a top-coat if that doesn't bother you then it's a great choice for EDC. Similar to GEC's 81 but a knife you can buy without potential months of searching...

I'm fond of this one. Amber bone and fairly attractive if I do say so myself. They're not too big for me unless I'm in lightweight summer shorts. PLUS! Another 3 blade 2 spring Case with no blade rub.Anybody here care to share their experiences with the Case Large Stockman (the 75 frame)? I know some think it's too large for pocketing, but my most carried knife is a GEC 97, so the Large Stockman doesn't seem overlarge to me. It is a two-spring stockman, which I know some here warn against (but I generally prefer a two-spring to a three-spring for this pattern). Any warnings or encouragements or just general commentary on these?
Happy Birthday! Great knives and great wifeWell, I appreciate everybody's input. My wife just gave me the two I wanted as birthday gifts, and I'm quite impressed. I was expecting to have to just overlook minor fit and finish issues, but these are both beautiful knives with pretty high levels of fit and finish. I think these are going to see a lot of use.

Awesome start to your Case knife collection.
See that space between the bone and the bolster? That's a $200+ space. There's no discernible blade rub on this one that has two springs to run three blades. It's close, but the blades do not actually touch. So it can be done. By Case. The knife was built in 2008.

I’m eyeing one of those as we speak. A pocket worn bone Crandal jigg. Do you pictures with one as reference? I’m worrying it’s gonna be too small.I suggest the Case Half-Whittler. Nice size. Comfortable in the pocket.
Here's one next to my Texas Jack, if that gives you any sense of perspective...I’m eyeing one of those as we speak. A pocket worn bone Crandal jigg. Do you pictures with one as reference? I’m worrying it’s gonna be too small.
Thank you! I have a Texas jack so that’s a perfect reference! I agree with you on the peanut. I’m hoping I agree with you on the half whittler as well, since I like the idea of a small knife. It looks to be wider around the handle than a peanut. Is it?Here's one next to my Texas Jack, if that gives you any sense of perspective...
I personally find the peanut knives to be smaller than I like, but I really like the size of the half-whittler....

Thank you for the reference! Seems like you can fit all four fingers on there. I’m a medium with fat finger’s myself, so should be ok.

This is one of my favourite knives. It is the right size to fit in your coin pocket when going out somewhere but you still want a knife in your pocket, the photo does not do this justice, but the white bone is devine, and it has possibly perfect F&F. I was so impressed when i opened it, and after going right over it, i can't find a fault. I got another one is smooth antique bone and it is a beautiful little knife as well. I would have one of these over a Peanut any day of the week.Seems like you can fit all four fingers on there. I’m a medium with fat finger’s myself, so should be ok.
I compared a peanut to the half whittler last evening, and there really isn't a lot of difference in the over all width of them. I think the difference in feel is the extra length, and the swelled center of the half whit. Some knives simply feel better in hand than others, and in my opinion, the half whit is one of those.Thank you! I have a Texas jack so that’s a perfect reference! I agree with you on the peanut.
