What Dad/Grandpa carried

So I was sitting here thinking about Case and my grandfather, and this thread idea came to mind. I was wondering what ya'll's dads and grandpas carried as their every day knife, and maybe what they used for hunting too.
My grandpa carried an old Case pen in red bone. It cut like a razorblade, and the bone was truly pocketworn from all the time it spent in his pockets and hands. He hunted with a Buck 103 Skinner, to skin out the deer he took with his old 30-06 rifle.
Dad carried (back when he actually carried a traditional) a red bone pocketworn Case Canoe. He actually never carried it enough to get any real pocket wearing on it before he switched to tacticals
He hunted with the same Buck 103 Grandpa used for years, then downsized to an Alpha Skinner (told ya he was into tactical now)
Now, to carry on the Case red bone tradition, I'm carrying a CV peanut in that color.
Now, let's hear what those uncles, dads, and grandpas carried!

My Great Grandfather carried this Wenger from the mid 1950's as far back as I can remember, I inherited it when he died. I found it's twin for sale online and bought it so I'd have another in my collection, one I'm not afraid to use.

strangely enough, my one grandfather passed away when i was 15 and i have no idea what if any knife he would have carried, he passed long before i got into pocket knives
my other grandfather and I are estranged, i believe he carries some sort of little pen knife, but i have no idea

my father never carried any knife until his retirement party, he used to use his old army p38 for everything. Now he likes carrying a little knife. I actually have the one he was carrying a little gerber piece of junk, it was a framelock and he hated it, so i kept it for sentimental reasons and we went to bass pro shop and we picked him up a little winchester, i not sure what the model is, but it looks like a tiny buck 110 (got him on traditional style at least!). Told him, i wanted it or any knives left to me in his will ;)

thanks guys.
Rsmith- One of my grandfathers passed when I was about 4. I have never even seen his knife in person, belongs to my uncle. But I've heard legends. My other grandfather I forgot to mention, silly me! He has lost so many knives that he doesn't want to pay more than $5 for one. He's carrying a Pakistani Buck 55 knock off. Speaking of that, maybe get your grandfather a Buck 55? It'd be an improvement, and about the same look and everything.

meh my father is the OPPOSITE of a knife guy

the thought of paying more than $20-$25 for a knife would just annoy and boggle him. Perhaps something like a Buck 55 for a special occasion (his 60th bday is in April, or christmas or something) he might be more willing to actually enjoy it then :p

I am sorry to say that I don't remember what pocket knife my grandfather carried regularly. I do know that he had one with him all the time, because that is how my desire for a pocket knife arose. He owned the one pictured below for the last 10 months of his life, because I gave it to him his last Christmas with us: an inexpensive Schrade Walden 708Y.

Here is a link to a post I made about this knife, and the significance of the picture.

RareWeaponsFanatic- That stinks!
Doug Add- Good lookin' knife, brother. Better, 'cause it has sentimental value

after checking out the magic google box, those would both be (i think) to his liking
thanks for the heads up!!

Grandpa always had a stockman in his pocket. He went through them pretty quickly. It was usually a Case in jigged bone with a punch.

My dad carried an Old Timer folding hunter in a sheath while at work, and an Old Timer Pocket Pal while at home.

My Grandad carried a Buck 307 everyday. My Dad doesn't carry a pocket knife.

I remember my grandfather carrying a Tree Brand stockman. I recall him mentioning it being his favorite brand. He was a farmer and a butcher. I'm sure he wore out more than a few knives.

My father isn't much for knives. The only knife I can recall him carrying is a Trim Trio. He was always pretty tight with his money so if he carried anything else it was a cheap one. He had an old Callimus Pilotsknife he brought back from Vietnam that he kept in the shed and used around the yard sometimes. I took it when we moved him out of the house a few years back. I was covered in rust and the the leather sheath had disintegrated. I cleand up the knife and keep it in my shed now.

My mom's dad didn't carry a knife, except when he was working around the house and yard. Then it was a barlow-style electrican knife. In other words, some sort of black plastic scales, a large sheepsfoot blade, and a locking screwdriver instead of the smaller blade. I believe Klein still sells a knife like this. The screwdriver was a flat bladed one, and actually long enough to be truly useful.

My dad's dad died when I was 2, so I don't know what he carried. He was a machinist, so I bet he carried something. I'll have to ask my grandma (she's 92 now) what he carried. Also, my dad and my uncle.

My dad has carried a Victorinox Classic for as long as I can remember. As a proper pocketknife when he was working, and now that he isn't working, on his keyring. He uses the toothpick at LEAST 3 times per day, and he NEVER forgets about a tool on it. I remember in the 80s, Victorinox did not have a good way to latch in the toothpick, and he was forever losing them. All of a sudden, they caught on, and he has been fine ever since. He has a Wenger equivalent to the Spartan in his dresser organizer thing, so I think he must have carried that at some time too.

I gifted my mom an alox Victorinox Classic many years ago, and she still has it. She says she uses the scissors all the time. I checked up on it a few weeks ago, and the implements were locked in pretty tight from stuff she picked up in her purse, so I cleaned it out, sharpened it, and oiled it.

My stepmom has a pink Victorinox Classic on her keyring.

One grandfather - A Buck 301 and a TL-29 when he was in the navy
The other - Had a Boker Scout and an old stockman made in a hardware store in St. Louis

Have all of em except for the 301 (good thing i have my own 301)

My Father's father died at the age of ~85 when I was two (1954).
My Mother's father died at the age of ~85 when I was six.

I have no idea what pocket knives they had.

My father usually carried a SAK style knife, though not one made by Victorinox.

This one...

Fair warning, the Buck Minibucks are quite tiny. Edge is a bit smaller than a peanut, whole edge. The small caliber is an excellent size though.
