What I do is, I typically start off strong, I wait a few hours after ordering before walking out to the mailbox the first time. But it's like peeing, once I break the seal, I end up going out and checking every few minutes.
The Mrs. always complains about how "The mail only comes once a day and it takes a few days after you order blah, blah, BLAH..BLAH!" God, shut it already...sheesh.
Not to say shes right.....But I have noticed that nothing ever comes that first day. I figure it must be a coincidence. Now that I think of it, I don't recall it ever coming the second day either....Hmmmm, have to look into that.
But anyway....
Typically, the second day is the day I set up the tent out by the curb by the mailbox. It saves alot of walking that way, and that first night is always pretty rough, walking out to the box every 15 or 20 min. leaves precious little time for sleeping.
So with the tent up I can get a bit of shuteye. But I wake everytime a car goes by. I mean, it could be the mailman for gods sakes. Another instance where the Mrs. says "The mail doesn't come at night blah, blah, blah" Yet again, so far shes right but even a broken clock is right twice a day.....
I usually don't put on an adult diaper until the third day. I stop leaving the tent the second night normally but the tent doesn't start to stink until the sun gets to kicking good the third morning. Now, before you say that that's too far think about it, even if I head in to the bathroom only 2 times a day, that leaves as much as 20 minutes a day that I could miss the package....seriously.
So, history has taught me that alot of times the knife seems to arrive the third day for some reason. Normally the mail carrier is almost as excited as I am. She says it's because my unshaven, diapered, unbathed condition living like a homeless person in a tent by the street makes her sick to her stomach but I think deep down, she just loves to see me smile.
