I really didn't count on getting any knives from friends and relatives, but my Sister tried. Imagine the look of surprise and joy on my face as I opened the box with a matching set of 4(count em)finely tuned Jaguar folders from our little buddies in China! :barf:
Three of them are liner locks, but one is missing the thumb opener. The other 2 with thumb openers don't open properly; and the last one is some kind of Swiss Army type knock off. My poor Sis doesnt know one knife from another, and probably thought she was getting me something really nice. Kind of like the Franklin Mint American Eagle lockback my Dad got me several years ago. That sucker had cheezy gray plastic handles and a fake gold painted eagle embossed on the side. The paint was flaking off the eagle in many places. :barf:
Good thing I had ordered myself a super nice custom slipjoint folder from one of the best folder makers out there in time for Christmas! Don Hanson III.
Clip blade is a hair under 2.5" of super tight twist, all high carbon tool steel damascus, with front and rear nickel silver bolsters around gorgeous white(and rainbow colored) pearl. The backspring is made from the same tight twist damascus. As soon as I can get a nice digital pic to come out nonfuzzy or too big, I will post a pic. Other than that, my Christmas was kind of blahh.
