What did you pick up at Blade?

I got a Swissbianco “officer” with a caplifter, a vanilla Yojimbo 2 because Michael Janich was at the booth, a new prototype Olamic Soloist, and some nano oil.

Hell of a haul, there!! What do you think of the Soloist? That knife is just beastly. The rest of those pieces are sweet also!

Thanks man! I really like the Soloist. It is a huge slab of M390 and the action is top notch. I love the action on the tip-heavy blade swinging out. I went in knowing nothing about Olamic knives, just had heard of them, and tried out all the knives they had, this was my favorite. I was playing with the whippersnapper and asking the older Russian guy about it and he was like, "Me, I like big knife," and sold me on the soloist. There was a ton of variation in how the different Soloist prototypes felt on deployment, depending on whether and how they were drilled, textured etc. and I really wanted to want the entropic one but this one stood out as feeling and sounding the best when you flip it. The thumb stud tends to cause you to press the detent and lock it shut if you move it too close to the pivot, and kinda gets in the way of cutting if you've got it midway down the blade, but I like it. I love the blade shape too, I didn't even try out the pointier variant. I was just admiring your haul, looks like we have kinda similar interests but I'm a couple years behind ya :)

You all are killin me - thought I had enough Olamics already!

I'm really torn between the Whiper' and the Soloist - I always end up getting rid of smaller knives, but that is such a great design.

Quiet Quiet - much jealousy for that dagger Rainmaker  Comfort-wise, how do you like the all ti handles compared to the contoured overlays on the custom Rainmakers?

Wait, there's a Fellhoelter Ti-Bolt that uses G2 refills? THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING.

From Brian's mouth himself. But he's got 3 models and only one uses full size. The small tibolt can use the small pilot g2 gel cartridge.

I ordered me some Parker gel fills from a couple companies to see how they are and if I can stand a regular tibolt.

I think they work just fine, honestly. They're both elegant in their own way. I will get up a pic of both my Rainmakers for you later so you can see. There's not much difference handle-shape wise.

I do have more details on the knives over at Hawk Wing Forge on my facebook and instagram accounts. The knife is OAL of 7 7/8 and also i am making a 6 1/2 inch version at the moment, but have lots of other projects to finish first. My pictures were old on here, I joined a long time ago, and ended up being deleted. I am planning on getting back at it here, posting more photos, and being in the sales section after i get some orders done first. My email is evantmillerblades@gmail.com if you want to email me about anything, or feel free to message me through here regarding any questions also!
That little thing is so cool... Evan, do you have a gallery of your work and details?

I also went to meet up with friends new and old. Was my first time going to bladeshow. Wow! Lol. 10’s of thousands of knives and i only left with two. Lol.
My greatest joy was the people i saw and got to have conversations with. Some friends i had never met face to face, but have chatted with for a long while.
And...doh! I forgot about “the pit”. Never made it there. Oh well, theres always next year right?

Love the new Arno Bernard Rinkhals slip joint knife. I just picked up one direct from the in Thunderstorm Kevlar handles. Great pickup! I would love to attend Blade some year.

Would really like a review on the Terrain 365 PDW Invictus and its Cobalt , if it is any sharp on wet stuff like food since it is Rust proof.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the Invictus. I have the PDW version from Jeremy Robertson as well as an Elishewitz version. Wondering how the new "steel" is and how it stacks up.

I scored an embarrassment of riches, I'll grab some shots and post up shortly.

Off topic but wondering if you'd be willing to part ways with that Elishewitz Invictus. PM'd you as well. Cheers!
