What did you preorder?!!

Standard, I have that exact revolver in .38 Special only with a six in barrel and it is stamped CHP for California Highway Patrol. The story goes that Ruger had a contract for 4" revolvers with CHP, and they made 500 with six inch as a mistake. They then soled their mistake into the civilian market. It is big and heavy for the caliber, but I loved the rarity of it.

You have a rare piece right there! I wonder how many are actually still floating around these days.

Just in case anyone doesn't know this already, Guy is also a lefty. His designs always take that particular "disability" into consideration. Also, a SURVIVE! folder is happening soon. FYI.

Haha "disability"!!! It's nice to know that all of the new folders will be for left handers only so all you damn righty's can feel our pain!

LOL :D

Actually, you may be on to something there... are frame- or liner-locks ambi-enough for a S!K folder? Are we to expect a button- or back-lock design?

I'll call over to the nearest emergency room and tell them to get their stitching material ready.

Well even though for the most part fixed blades are ambi, the sheaths aren't always so. Another nice thing about the sheaths that come with these knives. The dangler option is much appreciated as well.

I haven't really had any issues with liner locks or frame locks but I've really only owned Spyderco's and flipper ZT's that had them. I'd be perfectly happy with a right handed knife as long as it has some sort of thumb stud or hole on each side. Flippers are fun and all but they do have a tendency to open when the finger flipping chingadera gets bumped.

Thanks Standard78, Silver Needle, and Hard Knocks! How very nice to have so many respond when a fella has a question. Now to wait for the knife to arrive!!!!

Glad to have you here. When the wait is over and you have it in your hands, be sure to share some pics with us!!!

Interested to see the Survive folder. It's a crowded market, but I think there's still space for a large, robust folder with a simple, utilitarian design in premium materials.

I'd also like to see a Survive utility balisong - something like a Marlowe Badger.

I agree. I'm interested to see Guy's design.

You're welcome bud. It's a good group of helpful people over here and I've learned a lot. I used to have a hard time waiting for an order but it's well worth it once you get it.

Nice choice. B34NS made a great point on steel options for it. I might actually get the 20cv now when I get around to ordering one.

I ordered my 3.5 in 3V. I keep wondering if I should have gotten the 20V instead. I haven't had any issue with my 4.1 in 3V having any rust or anything but I carry it on a dangler. Maybe I should have gotten the more stain resistant steel since it will be carried closer to the body. Oh well, too late now.

I've got a 4.5 on order, but am really interested in picking up a 6.

Not sure if I'll like the 4.1 or 4.5 better for a more universal hunting/camping/survival knife. Thinking the 6 will be too big to strap on for archery/gun deer hunting, but looks like it would really fit the bill for a camp knife. So far, the 4.1 really fits the size and geometry of what I am looking for - perhaps just a bit thicker than I would call for - but man it is such a well built and sleek little (big enough) knife.

Did I mention to you guys that I really love this GSO 4.1?:thumbup: :glee: (I know, I'm not telling you guys anything you don't already know)
