I have to agree with some out here. There was no deals to be had. The only deal I was offered was DPx and it was a good deal, but I didn't think the knife was worth even what he was asking. Everyone was asking MSRP and that was that. I learned that the event is more of a social gathering and a way to check out the knives you're interested in. I was even told by Microtech that Blade HQ was out of line for their prices. One of the main sponsors of the show...just wow. Workers were complaining of working and cheered when the announcement was made of closing. In the end, what did I score? I enjoyed myself, played with some great knives and realized I will order on-line. I'm amazed that most companies felt we would impulse buy, when most of us have so many knives. Most of us are educated consumers and know better.

HST. I'm sorry your experience buying was not to your liking. I myself found great deals on just about all my purchases. I know quite a few people in the industry that I rub elbows with frequently, perhaps that allowed me to get some of the deals.
I have to agree that some prices were a bit over the top, but also keeping in mind you can't always find some products we would like on dealers sites or secondary market.

Can you elaborate on that? While we did sponsor the Blade Show we didn't sell anything there.

Went to blade 2015 for the first time and had a blast. Even though it cost me almost 1800 (plane ticket + Hotel + rental car) for me and my girlfriend it was fun to get to talk to makers and molest knives that I can never afford. I won two lotteries out of 14; which isn't too bad.

I took it to mean you had prices so low that the manufacturer was not pleased??

Sounds like when show prices were questioned, and your prices were quoted, the manufacturer said "ya, but their prices are lower than they should be"?

Sounds like the dealer/manufacturer at the table was trying to sell knives at a higher price than the going rate at on line prices.

I often find prices at gun shows are much increased over regular prices. For ammo, guns, and such.

It used to be I saw great deals all the time at gun shows, on guns, ammo, knives.

Show mentality can take over. It is like being on vacation at a resort. You pay higher prices, but shrug it off as vacation/tourist prices.

Busse, Swamprat, Scrapyard seem to have lower prices at shows. Though, I was not there to confirm. I have had Proxies score for me in the past, and production prices end up being higher, significantly.

That Sigil has me seriously jealous my friend ;)

Very nice haul you got there in my opinion!
I didn't get to go to the show, so I just bought myself a tri-grip Ultratech last night and I'll call it good for missing out. Saved myself at least $3000 considering what I would have been trying to get at the show anyways :D

I am one of your customers, and look at your site religiously daily. I know the prices you ask for on Microtech, and asked 'if they'd match your prices.' They said said "No. Blade HQ shouldn't be doing that."

I had a blast as I always do. It just seems silly that I can't get the same deals there that I can on-line from an AD. I'm not known at all in the knife community. I enjoy a nice blade like the rest of us, and IMO, a paying customer is a paying customer. I don't even look at what some of you guys buy. My cut off for a blade is a Glock19, in price. I did see and handle some LE(s) along with others; and for me, that is the cool part of the show. I had a great time and will go year after year, as long as it's in my state or close.

I did notice a lot of forum members from their pics or avatars; however, I'm so new here, and my GF went as well, so I just kept it low-key.

I also was told by the Microtech rep (when I asked if the prices quoted were MSRP)

"These are the prices. Dealers should not be doing anything different."

The Sigil was the "one" I was going after at the show. It is awesome and in my pocket. There are few on the market now. Treat yourself

If I could spend that much on a single knife I would man, trust me :o

As some have said, I wouldn't say there were deals to be had. I was an early bird on Friday but still left empty handed. The particular knives I wanted were gone, probably before I even got through the door 5 minutes after they opened, and that was due to me getting in line 30 minutes early and still being around 500-700th in line. Sure I'll go back, but I'll either get in line super early on Friday or wait till Saturday and enjoy the like-minded enthusiasts. I did come home with some phone numbers and connection points to my favorite makers, which could prove to be much more valuable than a single knife which I did not have a say in :D

That line started before 7 am.

I was there around 7 am and walked past it, it was already getting long then.
