What did you score from the Gathering? Post up pics!

Uhh. I can explain the Maguas. Psy ordered one some time ago. He wanted a curly maple one. You guys all know I'm trying to build stock for blade. I had 3 maguas in curly maple. Not knowing which one he wanted I took all 3 so he could choose. A couple weeks before the gathering. Trade told me he planned on buying one from me at blade. Since I had them at the gathering, he just went ahead and picked it up then. When he showed it to his wife, she liked it so much he bought the last one for her. Couldn't likely tell him no now could I? I only took 1 Yuma oppossed to 5 in the fall. The Col. Purchased it. He is a repeat customer and a great man. Wouldn't of been repectable to tell him no. Trying to keep everyone happy is a hard thing to do. ;) they will be available again very soon. I do appreciate your guys support and patience.

Worry not, Thad. I am just giving you a hard time.:D

I often regret not buying a knife from you before you hit the big time.
When things settle down for you, (if they ever do) I will be ready.

A bunch of Canadian(from Gus) beer that's long since been disposed of, a Tackett blade(don't know the model) and a kickass under hammock from dear Mr. Tradewater.

you got an "EDC" with stabilized river birch scales.

I got the 'chete, a 17, a 24, a Tackett camp knife (not the challenge one, the first one), a 13, and a bunch of beer (Canadian, pointy brew, and B&Ts)
I may post up a pic of the blades, but I refuse to post a pic of the beer in its current state. (trust me, it looks a lot like coors)

It's a huntfest! :-)
good lookin' hauls so far.

Grrr, I've already managed to break off the tip. The day after I got back. I had it on the workbench, it rolled off onto the concrete floor.

just do what Matt does -- use it as an excuse to carefully reprofile the knife to a convex.

I got a Swabbie, BK9, BK16, BK24, KFU's Challenge knife and I found this POS by the trash can. Looked like someone tossed it at the trash can, missed, and just left it there. Think I'm gonna grind it into a prison shank or something.

How's the swabbie, Moose?

Better than I had hoped. Its a beast, 1/4" thick, HIGH flat grind, perfect sweep, and HEAVY!!!!

Pointy as hell too.....

I could see some zombie decimation with it.

As far as utility, I can see lots of places where this thing is gonna rule the roost.

thanks for the kind words, but if ive hit the big time then it was very over rated! :D

Well here it is Trade - thinking I may have overdone it a bit...

We have a Becker hat given out by Moose, the BK-5 given by Ethan, a Yuma from TM Hunt, The Tackett challenge knife, and the BA Custom I won in the raffle. Bill Akers also mailed me a nice double sided strop to go with his knife (very cool) and some patches.

Had a great time and I hope everyone else did as well!

You know, I clean forgot about these lovely things until my smarter half reminded me. These came home with us too.

I love those Yumas.

Yeah, you ain't kiddin'.

Preparations for the fall are under way. Heavily underway.

The next Gathering will be the one you don't want to miss.

I brought this lil' fella back with me. Sorry to say I haven't done a lot with it yet, but I did sacrifice a couple soda bottles in one swipe with the factory edge. The pic is a little misleading; I did knock both bottles off the stump and set them back up for the pic, but the cuts were very clean.

Considering this is maybe the sixth time I've attempted slicing water bottles with any knife... well, let's just say all the credit goes to the keen, acute grind on the Zomstro, not to my technique :D

That thing is a skillet with an edge.

I love it.

:D
