That handle is as stunning as the blade.Bestech Falco, a Kombou(?) design and one I've had a while. I've always liked the size, ergonomics, blade shape, etc. I've never cared for the shiny, satin blade finish and polished hardware. I acid etched and stonewashed the blade and dulled the screw finish yesterday and sharpened today.View attachment 2889608
I think the scales are a carbon fiber/g-10 mix. There's something different about a liner lock with titanium liners. That handle is as stunning as the blade.
Continued working on it today with my Eze-Lap 600 grit and quickly got it pretty close to how it came back from the SPA.Got my two-dot Buck 112 back from the SPA treatment about a month ago, which included putting on a new "Edge 2000" on the 440C blade. I've been dreading that first sharpening because I didn't want to mess up my new edge. Not really sure why I was concerned, because I'm normally not reluctant to work on any knife, new or old. Anyway, I decided today that it needed to be done, although clearly it didn't need more than a light touch-up. I marked the edge with a Sharpie then made a few light passes on an Eze-Lap 1200 grit diamond. Didn't take long to get the feel for the angle. It's not quite up to how good it was when it got back from the SPA, but now that I'm over the initial nerves and take another go at it tomorrow. (Picture taken shortly after getting back from Buck.)
