What did you use your EDC knife for today?

Normally I carry my moded No.7 to use as a box knife. Today it was put to work cutting out patterns and leather.

Used my BM 555-1 to pop the cap off a fuel jug followed by cutting the sleeves off a long sleeve shirt.

Oh, lots of stuff, as always. But today, most importantly, opening a package of new knives! Pics to come...

Cut off some fibrous Agave leaves and trimmed some thick dead plant stuff with serrated Salt and fixed blade today. The folder has been my EDC since I got it.

These serrations are excellent for gardening chores, which mean most of my Salt's usage time.

This didnt happen today, but a couple days ago.

So, I'm running some buried 10-3 wire from sub panel in the basement crawl space out to the bunkhouse. I had already cut it to the length the day before. I get my old arse down in there again and I realize I had a wire stripper tool with me, but no way to cut the romex (or whatever they call that rock hard crap on the outside of buried wire) down between the wires. I dont want to go back out and go find my big deer antler handled Mora I normally use for such things. No worries, I have my Kershaw Squaw Creek in my pocket! For those that don't know, the Squaw Creek has a 2" blade and is about the smallest pocket knife usable for much of anything of any consequence that there is. I use it for getting churched up a bit on Sundays and for cutting the twine on hay bales. The lighting is bad, there are spiders crawling on my leg and I get to use a knife best suited for trimming the laces on Aunt Emma's tennis shoes to cut through that hard coating. I think they put some kind of clay in it....

Anyway, I should have went and got the Mora. I got it done with the little Kershaw, but there was blood, uncharitable remarks and a band aid involved afterwards. Oh, and don't forget the required lecture you knew was coming from the Safety Bear and an extra trip to church for the french. There is something to be said for using the right tool for the job. BTW, 8Cr13Mov holds up fine. Ask my thumb.
