What did you use your sebenza for today?

I gotta ask. With as much as you use your knife how many times have you cut yourself? I mean you don't use a knife you USE a knife lol. I've never seen anyone use a pocket knife on the job as much as you do sir.

Probably not as much as you might think. I use mine similarly and I don't think I've ever cut myself with it. My coworkers do also (granted, they mostly use razor utility knives not conventional knives) and I've never seen any of them cut themselves either.

Utility knives are what I used on my construction jobs. Never thought of using my pocket knife. Wish I would of now lol

I was hesitant about it at first because of how much harder they'd be used and how much more they cost but once I got over it, I don't hesitate now and don't think I could ever go back. The blades don't wobble or roll or break and give me a lot more puncture depth. And I feel like I'm using a quality tool that's actually on par with with my Kleins, SK's, and Channellocks rather than something cheap and disposable. Best of all though I get to enjoy and appreciate my knives more than I ever would otherwise.

I was cutting a "Pool Noodle" to insulate some outdoor pipes with the Texas freeze coming. Used my 31 Boomerang, pipes were fine.... didn't count on loosing power at night, pipes froze in the ceiling , and it took 2 days to thaw , then all hell broke loose... It's a mess down here! I have a few times. Nothing major tho. Only time I needed stitches was from a 2x4 lay in fixture. It got caught up in the tie wire and went down. I tried to grab it, sliced my thumb pad and ended up with 13 stitches. Corrugated metal ceiling left a good gash and scar on the same thumb as well. Liquid bandages, Pvc glue and steri strips closed it up after a couple days, tape and a napkin wasn’t gonna cut it

like sailfish sailfish said it really lets you enjoy your knives using them like that tho. The only time I use any other knife at work is when I’m stripping something hot, then I use my insulated Klein stripping knife

I should make a clarification with my previous post. I've cut myself at work more than I can count. But it's usually on a sharp piece of sheet metal or the cut end of a zip tie I didn't realize was there or something. Never myself with my knife though.

I think I should’ve clarified more maybe, I’ve cut myself several times with my knife but nothing ever major. I was cutting some pvc supply line to make a bushing, slipped and sliced my thumb pretty good was the last time I remember. No stitches required tho. Carelessness and stupidity mainly

I've gashed my left index finger down to and into the knuckle. Required 8 stitches. That was when I learned not to cut toward yourself. I was holding down a piece of wood on some decking and tried scraping some splinters off. Knife slipped. Bled like a stuck hog. Just a few nicks since then but nothing major.

Thanks DC .. they are still adding to the death toll... Hypothermia, Carbon-momoxide poisoning, loss of Dialisis power, just awful! Thankfully I just have a mess.. burned through 1/2 cord firewood in 4 days , trying to save pipes in my house and stay warm!We just aren't equipped for 14* and no power.... worse on the kids... Bart

I have others I usually say are my favorite, but anymore this is the one I default to most often. Hmmm...

We had the ice storm here in 2009. Once we chainsawed our way to the road after a couple days of working on it, we found out there was no gasoline, no cell service or anything. We went 14 days with no power, some went longer. We ended up getting a generator that would run our well and couple small things. After that year I’m pretty sure everyone around here has a generator, portable or standby. My brother is in Houston and has been out of power and water since Monday I believe.

I had taken my knives out of my pockets, and needed to open a fresh bag of food for my pup. My small WC 21 insingo was the closest knife (by about 3 inches). It managed the job; and my pup was appreciative...though unimpressed by the fact his breakfast had been opened by a
CRK.

The cat thing is getting out of hand. Wife brought that home, looks like you just bought some cardboard to me. Snows melting so it’s out of the garage at least. Opened some clearance Valentine’s candy, cut some twigs for snowman per my sons request, could’ve just snapped them23303AF8-3417-48D2-A85F-FC6FA601184D.jpeg 3F10A783-311D-43AC-856E-820D49CF75B8.jpeg 2B1B227C-285F-4298-B690-4AB328B6ED48.jpeg C99A3399-BB18-45EC-A689-8E3F8FB71495.jpeg A6E2AD7E-CA36-4A23-ACCB-D6A23BAC9F2F.jpeg C513F872-CE45-461F-8D40-43C709BAC2CE.jpeg 4527B13C-6CC6-4357-B119-59D403E9290D.jpeg
