What Did You Use Your Sebenza For Today ???

Making soup spoon on the mountain trial for my 2.5 yo John. We simply forgot to take a plastic one with us... luckily S25 was in my pocket :D

Total time: 15 minutes

^^^^ that is awesome!! My snakewood annual was used to cut a tag off a corworkers shirt today, and then got passed around being admired:)

I carry - and use - a sebenza nearly every day. Mostly mundane tasks like opening mail, boxes, cutting straps, whittling a few sticks, etc.... but didn't feel like sharing that stuff. This evening was a little different & the sebenza came to the rescue.

We (myself, the wife & 2 sons) live out in the country in south-central Indiana on a few dozen acres, which is what I would call a micro farm - not yet up to hobby farm status. As such, we keep a few dozen chickens - they're more pets than anything (I figure our "farm raised" eggs cost about $8 a dozen.....).

This evening, when I was closing up the coop, I heard an unusual scurry up the wall behind me and found I had come across a cornered raccoon getting ready to raid the coop. With flashlight in my left hand and sebenza in my right, I lunged at the raccoon and promptly exterminated it with laser like precision. Well, actually, I was a bumbling oaf but my knife is always screaming - hair whittling - sharp, which made the task almost effortless. I'm thankful all the girls were unharmed, and yet again the sebenza saved the day!!

I used my sebenza 25 to cut up some cardboard and also to peel and slice up the first apple I have ever eaten from the apple tree my wife planted in the yard a couple years ago. Knife worked flawlessly as always and the apple was pretty good too....!

Used my Large 21 to cut the foil seal off a bottle of Aleve. My OCD compels me to NOT use my fingers to poke the hole. :-/

I'm sure you probably know that racoons can be vicious, especially a cornered and wounded/stabbed one. I think you are lucky you didn't lose some parts of your hand in that duel.

You must be a true Sebenza Ninja! :D:thumbup:;)

I think I would have slipped out and gone for the .22LR.

Yes, I know all about the ferocity of a cornered raccoon - and thank my lucky stars it didn't turn very bad. This (.22lr) is the first thing that crossed my mind, but the gun is in a safe a few hundred feet from the coop. I had an Olight S80 in hand, bright enough to dazzle the critter for a fast attack. I was stunned at how fast it was over - amazing what a sharp knife can do! I have never had anything like that happen before, but "never go anywhere without a knife" means even more to me now!

Large Insingo used to cut holes in landscape fabric around the bases of some arborvitae.

You win with the raccoon story!! Mine has been doing boring around the house tasks all day. I would never try to get one of the coons that come on our porch with a knife:)

Opened a bunch of boxes with ease.

sometimes when im cutting, my knife is so sharp it looks like you didnt make a cut and upon 2nd look it falls apart.
.I think that wooden spoon is epic. Little jealous, but motivates me to improve my hand skill ;)

I used my large regular today to open a couple packages I got from Harbor Freight today. I have used it several days now with the things I have bought that it has tape and glue all over the blade. May be time for a cleaning.....lol. Good thing my sebenza 25 is right beside it just in case.

I'm hanging around with a sore back, so my Sebenza is not being used for anything fancy. However, it is probably the most expensive bookmark in tow.

I recently purchased a new oven and it came in a cardboard box. The cardboard was quite thick and heavy. The tiny dot in the pic is my trusty small Sebenza 21 Insingo. I love that knife!

Gotta love those small Insingos....so much knife in an easily portable frame. Mine is one of my favorites!

Used my recently acquired small Classic to overpower a number of school supply packaging challenges while getting my Son ready for first day back tomorrow.

Sharp, strong, adept … and the knife wasn't half bad either!

I am loving my first Sebbie!

I did this on Friday. It was "Pizza Friday" with my wife and we decided to have a bon fire and cocktails after our pizza. The pizza box was first dispatched for kindling. After a few more cocktails, we decided s'mores were necessary. The 25 was very efficient at creating a couple pointy sticks for the marshmallows!

My small Sebenza 21 needed some regular service, so this is what she did today:
