Anyone know any think about the mtech brand of knifed? I saw one in amazon I like and wanted to see if anyone had used this brand before. This would be something I carry for work. I work as a tech and I fix computers and such and wanted a stylish but a good knife to carry with me. What do you think?

MTECH USA BALLISTICS Assist Folding Knife with Silver Half-Serrated Blade & Silver/Gold Handle, 4.5" [Link to live auction removed]

Is it worth it or should I save for something better?

I've never owned one but I'm sure at that price, it's a Chinese made knife for sure or Taiwan.
You should hold out and spend at least $30-40 on a Kershaw or similar.
They may also be made in China but of better quality control and material. Just my 2 Cents.

That particular knife is 💩, but they do have some knives that are decent for the price.
You just have to know what to look for.

There are ten dollar knives that hit way out of the price range they are in.

This is not one of them.

Thanks. I am looking at some kershaws on ebay right now. I am hoping i can pick one up in my price range. I am liking the kershaw dezert/tan color one. I am hoping to get it in my price range.

Last warning. Next time it's an infraction.

The Shuffle is a decent knife for what it is - I have one or two - but are you looking for a little knife with a 2.25 inch blade? Kershawguy.com has new Shuffles for $10. If you go for one of these, be sure to get the 8CrMov13 model and not the 3Cr13 (blade steel).

I have seen Kershaw Thermites on sale lately for as little as $25! (hint: KnifeCenter). They are $31 at the big river place.

Good luck in your search. Let us know what you end up with and post a review of what you like or don't like about it.

I like the little blade for what I do at work. I am in and out of schools so I can't really carry a big blade so the shuffle looks to be about the size I need to go with.

Run, don't walk away from it. Before I knew what to look for in a knife and thought a cheap (not inexpensive, there is a difference, see Kershaw) would be adequate I bought an Mtech. With one week the scales were disintegrating in my pocket, the clip fell off, and I could close it one-handed with the liner lock engaged. Also, sunlight seemed to full the blade. You did the smart thing by asking for advice, do yourself a favor and follow it.
