What do i have ? Looking for axe knowledge . . .

First thing I would clean would be that Firemans axe. Could be a Collins Ligetimus. Looks to be in great shape and crown and arm stamp would be a cherry on top.

The little DBL bit looks nice also. Looks like a cruiser, if it has a smaller eye size it is indeed a cruiser. Hope you find lots of stamps.

i just went looking at all of them individually and took pictures with a ruler for scale. Would it be excessive to add 60 pictures to this fourm? I found lots of stamps!

LOL! I have never heard of any one complain about to many pictures. You might be the first to load to many though.
How about you just post two or three axes at a time, you will probable get more information that way.

I'll trade a Kershaw free fall or a Kershaw wildcat ridge for the fireman's axe and the small hatchet / tomahawk head.

Sorry forgot you knew how to use the shift key. Or was Garry3 taken. Honestly why would you offer anything over ~25 for a rusty hunk of steel when a new one is 40 and has warrenties and a handle.

OK, The Flint edge is a nice stamp and the axe is in very good condition, the USFS stamp on the other side makes it better. Very nice.
The Homstead is nothing much unless its a 2 1/2 pound cruiser. The eye size will be smaller than on that flint edge. I suspect that it is a cruiser but can't tell for sure from the picture. Cruisers are always sought after. Homestead is a Collins axe brand. It's alsoin very good condition.
Stanly didn't make much in the way of full size axes that I know of. Yours looks like a Boys axe, or house axe. About 2 1/4 pounds if it is a boys axe. It is not in as good a condition as the first two, but not bad. The logo is called a Stanley Four Square. The stamp on the other side is called a Stanley Sweet Heart. The Sweet heart makes it much better than just a four square.
Your doing pretty good so far!
I don't know what you paid for that box of rusted heads but I am thinking you did alright.

The little Plumb is a roofers axe. The holes are for cutters, tar paper, asphalt shingles. Might come in handy if you roof your house.

Can't make out the stamp on the DBL bit, TT Flint edge? Probably a good user.

Not familiar with the Keen Kutter. Maybe an earlier roofing axe for asphalt shingles? I am not positive.

Oooh, a Collins Legitimus cruiser. Very Nice. The other axes are good too. Norlunds are in demand. Legitimus axes are earlier and better quality than later Collins.

I'm thinking you got somebody's axe collection. It's starting to look like a huge proportion of quality tools. Definitely not your run of the mill pile of rusty axe heads. Very impressive so far. I still wonder about some of the funky hafts visible in the first pictures you posted. Maybe they were just for display. You have your hands full on refinishing projects.

My favorite so far is the Western pattern TT Kelly Works Flint Edge, USFS. There are probably quite a few of them around but that one looks like it has barely seen any use. I'd guess that's the original paint visible on the head. Flint Edge axes are great tools, and I'm a real double bit fan.

You did good getting that collection.

Thank you for all the positive feedback and knowledge . I have more pictures to come. I got this collection from someone off Craigslist .....he got them from an Estate clean-out

Thats unreal. No junk at all it seems.
Whats the stamp on the hewing hatchet? Is that ATHA?
