  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

What do you call a .....

hope not to ruffle some feathers...but Bura did not design the BDC.

A buddy of Terry Sisco's designed the 10 inch version and Sarge and I lobbied for a larger 14" version (and munk for the 17-18" version).

Terry's buddy sent the 10" wood model to Nepal for just a "one-off" custom...never imagining that it would be such a great seller. Of course, when we got to see it...just had to have more...and the rest is history.

When they get kukris delivered in Reno, the crate comes with a list of what's included...Bura called this one "New Model"...which to me did not do it justice. I suggested it be called "Baby Dui Chirra"...because that's exactly what it looked and felt like. The forum guys picked up on it and Bill changed it (the first few did indeed sell under "New Model") to BDC. Sometime later someone suggested that BDC stood for "Bura Dui Chirra" - which also works...but does not indicate the size.

So, for me...it will always be "Baby Dui Chirra". But I promise not to stuff it down anybody's throat...:D :foot: :p

ARGH!!! So, if the B stands for "Baby", is there an adolescent and adult DC? I'm just funning with you here and trying to illustrate how confusing this all is to a newbie. Bladite's suggestion for an sticky explaining all this would sure be useful.

The Adult DC would be the Berk Special...:D
