What do you call this pattern??

Charlie,

They are in my safe deposit box right now. Not sure I can post pics out here anyway but will see.

What do you collect besides Schrade?

As far as my permanent collection, I go for interesting old knives/patterns in very nice shape and a variety of brands. I have a bit of everything but more Case, Schrade, and Robeson than anything else. I tend to go for interesting patterns like larger whittlers, cattle and premium stock knives, large jacks, large cigar patterns, texas jacks, etc.

DSL internet connection? Yes with Verizon

KA, If you invest in a decent scanner, you can take great pics (scans) straight into your computer, and DSL makes them easy to transmit.
It is a great way to archive your collection as well.
When you expressed doubts about doing pics, I thought you were on dial-up.

I liked these so much I went out and got one for myself this morning. Mine is the Schrade Walden version.

I'll be getting one for sure.I may have to go over to the trade post and put up some sacrificial steel.

It's nice when you can go out and buy what you want, Rivit!! How'd you do that:confused:??? I looked for years for mine:eek:!

I actually saw the knife a couple months ago, but not being a Schrade collector I didn't think it was worth the $150 the guy wanted. Today I saw him and traded him the Ulster pictured below for it(It looks a lot better than the scan). The other part is that yours are in much better condition. - Dan

Keeping it rolling here; I just clipped these out of my Empire display. One of the attractions of this pattern is the nice sabre blade grinds, so I put the Sabre regular jack in too, for fun.
So far this is the only ebony handled serpentine I've seen, but I am sure you old(er) timers have seen some! If so, please post them!!!

Added this pic; different angle in the scanner shows the grinds better.

The Ulster's nice too! Tough choice, but I think you've got the purtier knife now, Dan!

So, the nice thing about being an OLD knife accumulator instead of a collector, is that you come across stuff you forgot you had! (I did say old!) Here's another Serpentine Jack, a more modern one, with that nice sabre grind!

Some of the old peanuts had this same elaborate sabre grind with the deep swedges -- basically a miniature version of this serpentine jack. I used to have an old EC Simmons Keen Kutter peanut that was done like this -- pretty cool -- and pretty impressive on such a small blade.

Here is a single blade Imperial one that I picked up this morning. It has solid bolsters and was made between 1928 and 1930. These early Imperials are pretty good quality knives.

Nice one Rivit! I love old Imperials. You don't see that IKCO in a diamond stamp too often!

That is nice.I think the obcure brands can be had for cheap money too. You get a lot of knife for your dollar.
