I just received my bk 9 am quite impressed with the sheath. I saw it had a space for a tin or sharping stone. So my question is what do you guys carry in your tin?

Well i carry things WITH my tin. I dont keep my tin on my knife, its in my pack.

Top pocket is my "tin" pocket

If this stuff plus a becker, some cord, and a water bottle cant get me through, well then i dont deserve to be out there

I have an arrowhead in my tin as well. Use it for mainly for fire steel. Great product.

Depends on which tin I'm looking in.... but the typical things one would carry in a tin.

Thats a good idea I hadnt seen before Im going to steal it.

I usually carry two in my backpack, the first one is a fire kit, the second a "food gathering kit":

Fire kit: small firesteel, some PJCB's, a bic, some fatwood, and a magnesium bar.

The "food gathering kit" has fish hooks sizes 1-20, jig heads, a spinner or two, a few small bobbers, split shot, and some wire leaders that will double for an easy snare. a bobbin of spider-wire, and some bank line

In a pinch or a fit of minimalism, the highlights of both tins can be compressed into one.
Here's a tin I used in last August's challenge to good effect.

hope this helps!

Couple of Advil, bandaids, cotton and the guts of an old Zippo with an extra cotton ball stuffed in it. I use it as a carrying case and flint.

I don't carry an Altoid tin. But I do carry a Randall model 18. OK, not appropriate for this subforum, I know, but there's usually some fishing line, fish-hooks, cotton balls, matches, and a handful of aspirin up the tube. The outside's wrapped with Shomercord, so I'm good to go there.

Altoids.
I carry the Altoid tin in my daypack with my other gear (including any larger knives I happen to be lugging with me that day).
Mebbe if I accidently cut some part of me off, like a finger, I can empty out the altoid tin and use it to bring back the pieces.
