What do you carry on your KEY RING?

A Spyderco Ladybug, in blue.

Some keys too, their serrations take care of even the toughest package!

The P38 is a WWII, Korea, Vietnam era military can opener. It came with your box of c rats. They're widely available thru mil surplus stores.. they're cheap, work great for their intended purpose, make a neat lil pry tool, and actually work good for scraping magnesium bars when starting a fire. Mine's come in handy a couple times for removing damaged scopes during a hunt too.

I love the white photon ll that I added to my keychain. Now after reading all these post I am trying to decide on whether to put a SAK or the Micra on my keychain. I just don't want anything too bulky on my keychain because I don't like the way it feels in my pocket.

Maybe you guys can persuade me one way or the other in the next several post

What do you guys think about the <A HREF="http://onestopknifeshop.com/store/buck-minibuck-tool.html">MiniBuck</A>?

Red Photon II, Sears Craftsman 4-way screwdriver. I don't like the feel of the micra or SAK in my pocket either...so the Leatherman Wave goes on the belt for me

Hi Dragon1,

The MiniBuck looks pretty cool. I like the idea that it has a pliers and scissors both. It is also .25 of an ounce lighter than the Micra.

Do you have a MiniBuck? Can you compare it to the Micra for us?

Thanks,
starchaser

Heh...actually, I don't have either. I was planning to either get one of the two, or a Leatherman Mini Tool for Christmas.

The blade on the MiniBuck is also .5 an inch longer, if you dig that.

I dunno. Maybe I should stick with Leatherman quality.

Alright...

I think I'll get a MiniBuck, and get a Micra for my mother.

The Leatherman Mini Tool has the best pliers, with needlenose, regular, and wire cutters, but I don't see myself needing that a lot. It doesn't have too much else besides pliers too. It has a can opener though, which you usually don't find on mini-tools.

The Micra's pretty sweet. Nice scissors.

The Buck has quite a few features, with both pliers and scissors. Although neither of them are as good as the Leathermans', you get both on one same-size tool. Longer blade too, which turns me on, tweezers, and enough screwdrivers.

Hey, if I don't like it, I can always swap with mom!

Hey Dragon1,

Let me know how you like the MiniBuck tool when you get it compared to the Micra you are going to give your mom.

I will get the one you recommend.

No problem...you might have to wait a couple of weeks though.

Anything in particular you'll be using it for?

I'm also not very...opinionated. Or experienced.

I am looking for the right tool to put on my keychain. Most likely the Micra, MiniBuck or a SAK. I want it to be small and real light. I don't want to know that it's in my pocket. I just haven't been able to make up my mind.

I carry a Spyderco co pilot coz the little pouch my micra comes in is so neat I dont want to lose it,which I probably would if was on my keychain.

Victorinox Bantam. I like it as a keyring knife because it's thin and light for a SAK. It only has a blade and a combination can/bottle opener (and of course toothpick and tweezers). It doesn't have all those crazy SAK tools that add weight and bulk but rarely, if ever, get used.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it but I have been carrying a Midnight MiniChamp on my second keychain. I have a Micra, Ladybug, and Victorinox Classic on the other chain. The flashlight and two tiny blades (spear and Wharncliffe) plus tools make the Midnight Mini Champ a real practical little tool.
