What do you cut your steak with?

At home I use steak knives.

If I eat steak out I use the knives supplied, although I don't usually eat steak out though.

Oh, and theres really nothing more boring than a steak knife. You have an account on "bladeforums" and use regular people utensils? C'mon.

This guy :D You're on bladeforums and you use a steak knife stop visiting this site immediately! You are clearly not as diseased as me  :D
I personally use a 12"machete  or my Barlow

No offense, but you guys shouldn't be afraid of putting your knives to use. Out in the woods I've used 10 inch blades to replace not only knives, but forks and spoons, too. I hope saying this doesn't void all of my warranties at once, but I use my knives for fire pokers, batoning oak (oh yeah, the dry stuff), safety plastic openers, etc etc. Not all knives are meant to end up on a display shelf (although many of them are deserving of that)

I agree with this post. If you are truly a knife aficionado you are going to practice what you preach.
My family and anyone who knows me would look at me with a "WTF" look if I used any other knife than one of my own at the table whether at home or at a restaurant.

Knives? For steak?

Steak knife. Pulling out a folder or belt knife at the table is weird, unless you're camping. You bunch of uncivilized neanderthals.

:D

Steak knife preferably serrated! I made a steal tonight and some thyme dusted frites!

Last time I fixed steak, I used a chef's knife to cut it. And I cut it on the bias. Alton Brown, eat your heart out.

My steak knives are convex ground S35VN, full tang with polished birch scales. Get on my level.

I'll use whatever is in my pocket. Out to eat or at home, it doesn't matter. I try to use some carbon steel on meat whenever I get the chance. The patina you get from meat is the prettiest one. You just can't beat that shiny blue and orange stain on your esee 4 after eating a big ol' thick pork chop.

I used the word pretty, so I can't be a Neanderthal.

When I eat steak I use a steak knife. A Bradford steak knife! ;)

I keep a portable propane bar-b-q in the trunk year round. And it is well used. Most times when farting around by the lake etc. that little unit comes out because its fast. If steak knives were forgotten, there is always a Mora or two somewhere in the car. Always in the glove box, sometimes in the trunk. Much like E., they are everywhere ! :D

In the absence of a steak knife, due to mediocre service. I have on more than one occasion, snapped out my EDC and started cutting. Much to the chagrin of my wife, and very strange/worried looks from other restaurant patrons.

It's already dead people, I'm not killing anything with a knife.....
