What do you cut?

Cutting yourself is bad for your health. I advise against it! :D

You're right. Next time I'll just cut my co-worker instead. :D
I've gave him 2 Leeks over the last couple of years. He lost
the 1st one. If he losses this one, I'm gonna :D, and say
"Sucks to be you"!!! ;)

That sort of generosity should not be put to waste. If he loses it....he is one unorganized guy!.......

If he loses the second Leek, just say "Here's my Dam Chive! You better not lose THIS damn knife, or that's it pal!!!"

Of course, the DAM reference might be lost on the guy, and it wouldn't sound nearly as funny to him as it does to us, and then you wouldn't have your first off the assembly line chive, and.......nevermind, bad idea:o

On second thought Vinny, you're first idea was better. Just cut him:D

over the last two days i have been cutting shelf liner with my small ener-g making cut outs for my experimental knife tackle box of sorts. picked up a tool organizer for screws and things and i cut and glued shelf liner into the divided sections to make nice spaces for my collection which outgrew my drawer. its not pretty, but hey it was 10 bucks and since my collection currently fills most of the box its an excuse to get another and fill that one.

My two recent work knife EDC's have been kershaw ( I just recently retired my old Talon and replaced with a JYD1 ) and a leatherman tool.

List of things cut just today with the JYD

-cable ties
-packing foam and foam rubber
-twill
-tape sealed boxes
-quad strength vacuum sealed bags
-zip ties
-surgical tubing
-IV tubing
-Rubber skin on practice arm
-solid rubber inside practice arm

On my tech support work days I am breaking out the JYD at least 10-15 times daily, scissors at least 30-40 times, leatherman 2-5times. What gets used varies depending on where and who I am around.

Hi all!

I was wondering what sorts of materials your Kershaws cut on a daily basis, or have cut. I've cut zipties, miles of cardboard, opened weeks of mail, whittled many pounds of wood, and even some rubber kickballs in half to make bird feeder covers.

And all of you have cut what?

Kitchen knife is not doing its job anymore.
Had to bring out the Blur.

Based on 4 or 5 years of EDU Boa PE use:
wire ties , various types of cables ( low and AC - never wtth current passing thru them) , hard and softwood flooring/quarter rounds , structural timber, lath and plaster , drywall , cardboard boxes , NEMA plastic enclosures , plastic wiremold products ,striped insulation off of wires, used to tease foil shields off of co-ax cables, cut holes in plastic motion detector housings, pry break outs out of control panel enclosures , open envelopes, cut up credit card offers, pry flaps out of new work electrical boxes, carve new or enlarge holes in backs of existing electrical boxes, pry old concealed magnetic contacts out of door and window frames ( magnets too), cut various types of insulation and wall covering materials ( masonite, aluminum and vinyl siding, plywood ,redwood ,etc.),radiator hose , aquarium hose, open the stupid little compartments in the Prilosec packaging ,peel the foil off of some cheap French red wine before pulling the cork, peel the shrink wrap off of CD's ( and a lot of other stuff besides) , pry sticky windows and doors open so I can get contacts installed, pry non-deadbolt locks open, slice a lot of cardboard boxes up.
Almost everything I do with a knife is a case of" it's not the right tool - but it's right at hand". Not just with Kershaws - but in general wish more small ( 3" or so) bladed knives had broader -tougher tips.
