Recommendation? What do you do with the fancy boxes your knives come in?

I used to keep my GEC tubes stacked neatly next to the old parts cabinet I keep my knives in.

But now there’s too many of them. I tried storing them on the coffee table in the living room but for some reason my wife didn’t like the idea… ;)

So now they’re in this crate (which has since been reorganized after my 1 year old made a mess of it).

I keep most boxes for other brands, too. Those get stacked (somewhat haphazardly) behind the parts cabinet I keep the knives in, out of sight.

I'm a hoarder and since I don't buy/sell/trade to private persons on the internet, I have no logical reason for keeping knife boxes. However, I sleep better at night knowing I still have all the original packaging.

Thank goodness that whomever had the foresight to save those boxes you show here, a bit of history preserved by someone some might consider a hoarder. Funny how it's the things we throw away that become desired artifacts way later down the road when most of the related artifacts are long sitting in land fills...
You aren't kidding. For some collectables, the box is rarer than the item itself. I had a friend and coworker who was an honest to goodness reality-tv-show-type hoarder. None of us knew it until he suddenly passed away one day. As it happens, he was also an audiophile with a significant income and he had literally decades of acquisitions of audiophile-grade stereo gear stashed away - all with the original boxes and packaging. There were literally stacks of the stuff; it was amazing to see. Having all the original boxes sure made it a great deal easier to eventually sell it off.
