What do you envision doing with the Junglas?

i plan on using it as my knife when i go to africa as a PMC. just like in the video game Far Cry 2. that was a good game :p.

everything my rtakII does but better. I cleared a lot of overgrown trail on 10 acres last year.

Now I won't feel like I am Niblet holding the Green Giants paring knife with that huge overthick handle.

I'll take it hiking with me when I'm not carrying any of these-
Becker BK9
Kabar Heavy Bowie
Ontario Marine Raider
Cold Steel TrailMaster
SOG Tigershark

EDC :D

Actually I've been looking for an excuse to buy a machete, mostly boreal forest around here so usually I am an axe man. I am thinking that it is about time I give a big ol chopper a try and where could be a better start than the Junglas.

hoping to pick up a pair and build a PSK around one and the other go into my Truck bag.... Machete are not for south america only ,I use one alot.....

Machetes are nice for a lot of things, not just clearing brush. They are handy for clearing out a lot more than just that jungle overgrowth

Here in the arid intermountain West, I just don't find much use for machete-type tools. I keep a machete in my car but have only used it a few times for tasks when I really should have had a hatchet.

Growing up on a small farm in upstate NY, we used machetes all the time to clear green, leafy brush and/or vines. My mom was initially pretty anti, but quickly caught on and still uses my boyhood machete 15 years later.

But here in central Oregon, I might just pass on the Junglass becuase this sparse, springy, dry brush just doesn't machete well. :(
