What do you guys not like about the Ti-Lock

Hey,

The Ti-lock just got restocked at BladeHQ. I have been eyeing one for a while. I should be saving money right now but it has been tempting. Why shouldn't I get a ti-lock right now?

My current collection looks like:
- CRK Mnandi
- CRK Small Sebenza 21 w/micarta
- CRK Large Sebenza 21 w/CF inlays
- BM 51
- CKF Milk

It needs a good engraving. I've toying with the idea of having a bat put on mine.

Compared to the Sebenza, it needs Locktite.

If you like the bronze shiny, you may need to rub it with a cloth or paper towel.

:)

I have the Elemental and absolutely love it. Now if you're looking for CRK to do an engraving it won't happen unless it's an annual (elemental, blue steam, in motion). I only know because I asked for a custom one done and was sadly informed they won't do that.

It takes a minute to open and close it one handed, but if you get past that, it's an incredible big knife in a small package.

Could have bought one brand new for $342 the other day. I was hoping one lasted till payday, but didn't happen :( It's a cool knife. I had one when they first came out. Cool locking mechanism. I am just more of a Sebenza guy and sold it is all.

Yeah I just wish it was cheaper. I would totally buy one for 350 but at 475.. I could get an inlayed large sebenza for that price, or and umnuzaan for cheaper.

The Ti requires patience and co-ordination to learn.... I'm short on both . The Seb works for me,,,, but the Ti is so cool! I'm just afraid i'd cut myself with it. If you have good dexterity give it a shot,,, great design... looks smaller than it works......more knife than a small!

You just hit it on the head. Why buy a knife that you may or may not EDC. As much as I like my Ti Lock, I just don't carry it that often. I've got other CRK's that I lean to for EDC. Instead of buying one new, wait until one comes up here reasonably priced. The longer you wait, the better to see if you really want one or if it's a passing want.

I've owned a couple TiLocks...moved on to 21's...never looked back..

The minimalistic "works," and readily accessible pivot/washer assembly of the 21 really appeals to me at this point I'm at in life ... "torque & go" pivot adjustment is the icing on the cake...

Besides, bearings on a folding knife < no matter how well executed > seem to me as a solution looking for a problem.

Grab a Mic. Insingo < large and/or small > instead ... you can thank me later! ;)

Yeah, I think the markup is for Gavin.....lol. It's a neat knife, but when a Sebenza is the same price, a Large Sebenza, the choice is easy.....Sebenza all the way.

There's nothing I don't like about the TiLock. The TiLock has a supreme blade-to-handle ratio, lighter weight, and hollow grind. And, the fact BellaBlades uses the hell out of one with no holding back tells me it's built to the same durability standards as the Sebenza.

The only thing I don't like about the Ti-Lock is that I don't have an Elemental...... yet.

G&G Hawk designs push the edge (pun, intended or not). I've owned several custom G&G Hawk designs over the years, I don't own any now...never quite made the cut as an EDC.

I've got no problem opening it. Takes about a day to get used to it, but if you're in a hurry it flicks open with ease out of the box :) Closing's no problem for me either.

I agree. I meant to say it takes a minute to learn to open and close one handed. Once you get the hang of it, it's like lightning.

Can you guys post some close up pics of the Ti-Lock? I can't really tell what kind of finish is on the handle.

It is a cool knife.... but you asked what I don't like about it. For me I just don't like the looks. Specifically I dont like that the spine of the blade is part of the locking mechanism. So, if I have some money to spend on a knife it will be another sebenza or maybe even a mnandi.
