What do you guys use your Busse's for?

Well, I have seen them used for everything from holding down a display case to spreading peanut butter......and even literally cut a car apart.

What you do with it is left to your imagination.

I resemble that. Well, except the car thing. So far, anyway.

It's the only knife I would even consider using as a prybar, hammer, etc. Normally, I use the tool that's appropriate for the job ... but Jerry has infected me with a certain "devil may care" attitude regarding his knives.

Oh. The thin ones can easily be made VERY sharp and are great for the kitchen. Even the small ones make excellent field tools in the woods, especially if you're a hunter (just ask the young fellow using the KnifeHunter handle).

As AZTimT just reminded me, they are great for getting married. My oldest daughter recently (OK ... 2 years, 5 months ago) cut her wedding cake with the finest, high tech cake cutter ever created: The Busse Cake Destroyer!

They also make an excellent ladder. I can't seem to find the picture, but I did use 8 Battle Mistresses to climb up an old, wooden silo once. Aaah, good times.

I use mine for creativity....

What a nice couple :D

The heat test

It's so hot with the red spacers, the handles on fire

The sharpness test.

It's so sharp, it cuts even when it's standing still.

I use my FFBM and NMSFNO for chopping, pack knives, and to shave my legs with (in winter most people wear pants a lot, so you manage to keep your arm hair without a whole lot of people knowing you have smooth legs :D). The NMSFNO has been used to cut and peel sweet potatoes from time to time.

The Muk is a great pepper cutter, and batons fairly well, but can't chop. My SAR 3 is an EDC and does everything from batoning to cutting boxes.

Chopping stuff with big expensive knives is a great stress reliever and great for someone in need of a little me time :o

Oh, for sure, but they look like great fun!

I am even trying to find reasons to get an AK-47...

You're trying to find a reason why you need an AK-47? Come on, it's a sweet freaking sword, that's reason enough :p

... sorry, couldn't resist. I'm from the Internet.

My youngest daughter insists on using a Busse to cut birthday cake. This is from today.

This is great guys, keep it going! I can't wait for my ASH SE to come in so I can contribute to this thread. I have some yard work that is just itching to get done with a knife!

Did I mention the shape....

It exhibits classic balance of styling with its elegant flowing lines.

Well, I was excited to contribute to this thread, so I will add my small contribution.

I bought an ASH-1 SE on Thursday, it came today. I didn't get home from work until after 7, and found it on my doorstep. Had to go cut SOMETHING with it, so I chopped on a downed branch (5-6" in diameter) in my backyard. I love this knife, the size is perfect for an "all-around fixed blade," but I must agree with all those who posted up about the pinkey pinch. I'm pretty sure I am going to have a blister tomorrow.

Here is a pic, sorry about the quality, it was taken at night after all!

Edit- how do I make it bigger?

I once used a 20 oz framing hammer to beat my SHBM thru about 6" of a treated 8x8 since my saw wouldn't cut deep enough. Left a few beauty marks on the spine. Come see it at the next Indy 1500. It just got a new factory edge put on it 10 days ago so it's in perfect shape. The sharpening had NOTHING to do with the beating BTW.

Found another use- cutting wrapping paper! Scissors were dull and not up to the task, so I used a Busse:

I remember a good shot of you taking a hog with a tan Camp Tramp...IIRC Ian. Great shots!

Every Busse knife I buy, I buy with the intent to use it. I have never bought a Busse knife that I did not like simply because I believed I could flip it down the road.

That being said, there have been plenty that I have bought that I have sold unused.

Hope that answers your question.
