What do you like in a chopper?

1311 is 13" of sr101 fantasticisim. Great chopper at 3/16" thick.

Aaaaaaaannnnnnd...... We need an INFI version please.

Alright, the 1311 seems to be getting a lot of love, you guys are swaying me over to the Res-C chopper, I just want some more user reviews from those of you who have thumped on them.
Only Res-C knife I have is a Proto Mud Mutt Tanto and I like the feel of the material and how light the knife is in comparison to something similar in size like my BossJack.

Putting that experience towards the choppers is what has led me to ask all of you your opinions on which are best- now I have 1311 on the brain. I have a 10 inch BRKT Golok that I use but want a little more blade, do you guys favor the 1111 as much as the 1311?
I'm sure I'll want the 13 more but I'm just trying to cover all my bases.

Thank you all again for your time.

The res-c has held up wonderfully, but that is where my hand goes and I try not to beat on my hand when working on stuff, takes too long to heal. ;)

The 1111 is ok, but extremely heavy for what it is and the balance is off in the factory configuration. The full flat regrinds seem to be pretty nice from user feedback. The 1311 feels perfect as is. Both will work, but only the 1311 is called the Mother Of All Dogs for a reason. :)

chop house is very good choice also lil heavyer then a basic 11 I beleave but still very light in hand

I really like my 1311, here are some pics I've posted elsewhere previously:

I also have an 1111, but bought it used after a full flat regrind, so I can't comment on the factory version.

I like a chopper that I can afford. The ASH-2 is a good all around blade but I dunno about its usefulness as a chopper yet. I think either Chop House will outwork it. Time will tell.

The Ash-2 will chop just fine-the only reason I sold mine was because I already had a NMFSH-No it will not Chop like NMFBM, or MOABOLO, but seriously how many people are going to be cutting down Gigantic Oak or Redwood trees-The Ash-2 is a fine knife and Chopper

So I watched every 1311 vid I could find on YouTube, it may not beat some of the beastly blades but it wasn't far behind. Considering how much less it weighs I think it's hitting the sweet spot.
Looks like it's still work as a heavy machete without wearing my old spindly arm out where the bolo may wear me down

So who else has some knife porn beater pics of a 1311 in action ?

Same number of swings for each. TTKZ, then 1311 in the lead. Then FBMLE followed closely by 1111, then ASHBM/NMFSH tied and TG14 brought up the rear. ;)

Those are some great pics of a great collection, thank you for sharing.
That TTKZ is just a beautiful blade!

While my NMFBM is a GREAT chopper, my TG does just as well, but much more agile and carryable.

The handle on the nmfbm is about the best handle I've ever handled on a fixed blade. Wouldn't change a thing.

Your TG performs on par with your NMFBM? Something can't be right ---- do they both have the same edge angle and grit finish?

Great job Tim, would like to see the Battle Saw included also-I have a Team Gemini and it is shall we say (not intended for hard core serious chopping) The NMFBM however is a beast

Ok guys,
Thanks for the info.

Let me ask you this, is the 1311 longer than the basic 11?
I saw a pic in a thread once showing the Basic 9,10,&11 and there really wasn't an actual inch of length difference between them, If I remember correctly the 9 had more cutting edge than the 10 due to a difference in the choil. So what I'm taking the long way around the barn asking is this, is the 1311 actually an 11 inch blade?

Since you guys actually use your blades I'd like to know if you see any downside to the Resiprene handle?

The 1311 compared to a Swamprat ROdent 9 & Scrapyard Dogfather (it's a big blade LOL)...

The full sized res -c handles are awesome; While my 1311 is unused (gotta fix that asap!), I've used my SOD & Dogfather quite a bit and the comfort of those handles is pretty much unmatched, again just my opinion.

Still miss my old NMFBM as a big, ultimate chopper though; .290 thick and just a beast of a heavy hitter.

Thank you for the pics.

I need to see what comes out from O2W tomorrow but I think the 1311 will be the chopper I buy next.

You won't regret it if you plan to use it. :)

Both are satin, convex, infi.
Yes I know the nmfbm digs deeper, but the TG isn't far behind IMO.

Of course I'm not a wood pro like some here, wish I had more time swinging my choppers!
