What do you refuse to do with your knives?

I never use a knife to unscrew or pry out fasteners. Too risky, and I have other tools. I refuse to brandish my knives because that is both hostile and idiotic. I refuse to use knives to probe live circuits ever since I melted the small driver/can opener on my SAK in a light socket I thought was off. Light show! I never lend good knives to unproven acquaintances, instead I offer to help them with their cutting needs.

i only cut with them, maybe pry off a lighter safety but thats about as far as i stray. I only loan out my blade if im there to supervise.

What's the Phillipino Coin Test?

The old school test of how strong/sharp the tip of a Balisong is is to see if it will pierce through a coin. Supposedly they used to be forged out of giant left over ball bearings and were incredibly strong, don't know if this is still the case.

At 50 (ish) I marvel at how the world has changed in just my lifetime.... Common sense is no longer common.
Knives are for cutting stuff so that when the task is done. The thing that needed to be cut - is cut.
The knife is undamaged and ready for the next time something needs to be - cut.

Oh, and I won't use a knife for a Brazilian.
