what do you spend a year?

I spend about $200-$300 per year on knives. I think that's fair. It allows me to read, enjoy, and build my collection slowly and without breaking the bank. This affords me about 2-4 knives a year depending on how expensive the knife is. I usually don't spend more than about $130 on a knife. I just can't bring myself to do it.

Probably around $300 last year. Yep, just about all the money I have... All in all, since joining this forum I'd say I've spend at least 1k.... Damn it!

I will be in 1-2 grand by july this year. at least 1.5 grand. it all depends but I spend quit alot, so does my girl. But this is nothin compared to some peeps who spend 3 grand at a show......sooon,sooon.

You guys are making me feel bad. I try to keep it to $300 per month, but I rarely am able to.

So far in February it's been about $150 so I'm aleady on pace to go over my budget.

I'd say less that $3,000. It could be more, I'd hate to have to go back and get the right number. But I also look at it is an investment. It's not just money flushed down the toilet. With a little luck, the knives in my collection could appreciate. I collect them mostly for pleasure but if they gain in value, so much the better !

Never really thought about a "knife budget" before, might be a good way go though. Hmmn, last year was about $700.00 (as far as I can recall), that's a fair bit more than normal for me. The year prior might have only been a couple hundred bucks but I got into flashlights and spent a grand or so on Surefires etc....

In this last year I managed to pick up a few of older knives knives I'd coveted for ages from the B/S/T in different forums hard to plan for those kind of purchases.

Plan on buying a house a year from now so most of my "disposable income" is now "savings" which sucks 'cause I've been drooling over a Sibert Scout and a Nealy Pesh Kabz & I doubt either purchase will happen now.

Funny thing is I was just looking at my collection the other day, and decided to add it all up. I got to figure I spent about $1800 last year. Not alot by some peoples standards but a lot for me. I think it will slow down this year because I have most of what I wanted to get. Although I just ordered a Kirby Lambert Inferno custom so maybe it will get higher instead of lower. Damn Knives and Flashlights, I need to work more overtime to support my sickness.
