What do you store your collection in?

I keep my Spydercos (except EDCs and backups) in Shadowboxes, available for admiration 24x7

I'm doing pretty much the same thing--I like being able to see my collection.

This goes with my longtime desire to decorate my study in Classic ArchVillain, with swords and other exotic weapons on the walls. Maybe in 2009 my membership in the Guild of Calamitous Intent will finally be approved...

:D

I've been using Plano tackle boxes for years because they are cheap, they can hold small and large knives and the can be locked. It seams like every time I find knives lying around and in drawers and shelves I just go buy another tackle box and start filling it. I found a set of 4 small locks with a master key so I need less keys.

Spyderco Spyderpac. I have the large one which holds 32 knives. Keeps them all in one place, I can carry all them to a show and if you want to show them, you can open it up and hang it up to see all of the knives. I've been using this for a little over two years now with no problems.

Second on the spyder pack. Great portable storage. When I have enough knives in about 20 years, I will look into the tool chest. Awsome pics!

I often refer to my knife storage box(es) as my "footlocker". In reality I have 3 of them. I have a Sears Craftsman tool box which is kind of tote box model that can be rolled on wheels kind of like luggage that you see at the airports. It has a Sears stock #59027. It is called the "Sit, Stand, Tote Truck". It has a very sturdy handle on top. It has a tight, virtually waterproof seal on the top section.

It has 2 sectional tool trays that are stacked on top of each other and it has a big space on the bottom for fixed blades and sharpening equipment. Although I now have all my sharpening equipment in 2 separate tool boxes. I have since added 2 more of the Sears #59027 units. I have one for all my Surefire flashlight stuff. And I have another one for all my non-Spyderco blades. The unit measures 23 inches wide by 18.5 inches tall by 13 inches deep.

These footlocker type toolboxes on wheels have been the best thing I've come across in the past 3 years. If I find anything better I'll switch over. This has been a very informative thread. There are a lot of great storage boxes, safes, vaults and other type storage containers posted by all of you here to consider. But the next time you're in a Sears store give these a close look and I think you'll like them. JD

For users nothing beats a magnetic rack. I have it in a closet and grab whatever blade strikes my fancy that day. (the deleted knife is a bali trainer- couldn't post this pic on another site unless it was obscured)

Got this for Xmas- brother in law built it. Will probably be using it more for kitchen knives than Spydercos.

My brother got me a Gerstner medium sized machinist chest as a gift a few years back. I don;t have a huge collection so its perfect.

I'm using a Plano tackle box for the folders and some other stuff, very nice and well organized.

Doesn't the magnetic rack scratch the carp out of the blades? I have a couple sitting around I never got around to putting up in the kitchen because of this.

i have two glass display cases from ikea
4 40cmx40cm shelves full of spydies per case
all the boxes live in a old suitcase in the back of the wardrobe
edc rotation blades live on my bedside table, and my santoku lives in the knife block in the kitchen

A Sentry HD2100 Fire / Water proof chest. Picked it up at Wallyworld for $38 and change. I have about 5 knives. One is always on me. The other four are kept safe to prevent accidents. Children are very curious beings.

This is where i store my knives, is a custom built Cabinet that was made for me by a good friend of mine who i influenced on becoming a knife knut as well.:D:D
It closes up to become like a chest and has several shelves for other knives
